Component to allow your users to determine currency conversions from one denomination to another. The component uses AJAX functionality so the page doesn't have to refresh when fetching the rates or making the calculations. It uses Yahoo Finance to obtain the up-to-the minute conversion rates and presently there are 147 denominations to choose from. There are MANY configurable options to choose from in the Admin configuration. And the component is XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid!

ALL text on the front end is editable on the component configuration screen.

The html layout of the component itself is completely configurable - through a textarea form field right on the configuration screen. Use any HTML you require! There is also a 'Restore to Default Layout' option, in case you 'break' the component layout.

Full Admin preview for the component on the configuration screen. Just make the changes, click Save or Apply and see the changes. *Note* that the Admin CSS will most likely be different than your Front End Template CSS!

Installation and Usage
=====================================
Install like any other component - through the Joomla! Extensions-->Install/Uninstall menu. Go to Components-->D-Mack CurrencyConverter Configuration and set the options you want!
Languages
=====================================
The CurrencyConverter component does not presently include any language files. All the text for the front end of the component can be changed in the module configuration to whatever description and/or language you want!

- Revised some code to account for sites in sub-domains - needed to fix a 'path-to-component' issue.

- *NOTE* This will be last version of this component. A CurrencyConverter Module will be replace this component - modules can be positioned 'anywhere' - even within content, so the component will be become obsolete.

I normally don't write reviews for many extensions, especially for Joomla!; however, I'm so blown away on not only how easy this plugin is but how easy it is to customize.
I love how I don't need to edit the actual file using an html editor. I can customize it within the module manager in the backend.
Now, I actually used the module instead of the component but I believe they both work the same way, it's just that the module is easier to position with fewer to no headaches.
My hats off to the author(s).

It's just what I need.
I had a little problem with installation amd D-Mack gave me the solution in only a few hours. Very good support.
I only miss this component works in a module position. May be in the future ...?

Very good component. Unfortunately, it didn't have the Albanian Lek currency, so I got disappointed. Then I wrote them I would like to have it added, being that yahoo finance had it, and the component is based on it.
In a matter of hours this was done. And, :P, being that they resolved so quickly it, I am thinking of making another request to them, dunno, peace on earth? :)
