Excellent, very simple and fast installation and all works fine.
Fast and professional support from the author.
Excellent work!
Problem solved, great component!
Well done
wow, it worked straight after installing from the tmp directory. What a great tool! Thanks for your efforts and your help to support the Joomla community with this easy way of taking care of the database.
I have alltogether secured the administrator path. I think that there is no need to additionally secure the other path or should I do it?
Thanks,
Kelley
Newbee tutorial
1. Create a folder called joomMyAdmin (best to do this in your folder that you ftp from).
2. Download the most recent zip file of joomMyAdmin into this new folder.
3. Upload this file to your site.
4. In your joomla! interface navigate to Extensions > Install/Uninstall
5. Use the Install from Url, drop in the link to the zip file. Example: http://mysite.com/joomMyAdmin/Current_joomMyAdmin_file_you_Uploaded.zip
Problems finding this link. Use your web browser to dig out the zip file, got to: http://mysite.com/joomMyAdmin/ and select the zip folder and right click "copy link location" and paste.
Click "Install"
6. Access joomMyAdmin from Components > joomMyAdmin
7. If you are keeping this active on your site, make sure you secure this folder, follow the secure instructions or contact your hosting company.
Hopefully this will help to get this very deserving component a higher rating.
the answer is YES, you should see an .htaccess file in your directory.
Thank you so much!
checked zip folder and site can´t find any documentation,
now that this component is so tricky to get working,
why not make a tutorial so its not a pain for every one to install it.
its called a Component, Components is Extentions that can be installed by the joomla installer. it dosent seems to be the way with this "component"
cant install it.
that's the kind of remarks that make me think to give up opensource development.
You could ask your question by e-mail, I will answer it with pleasure. I believe that you do not know what it is. I suggest you to find a component which will surely be paying much more.
Download: fast (with 300 kB/s) *g*
Installation: easy, even for newbies. Unzip, upload to installation directory, install --> max 3 minutes
Security: created .htaccess within 1 minute
Experience: invaluable
Installation is a disgrace - it should install from the zip file, unpacking on the server is often too complicated.
Having it installed, phpMyAdmin presents an error message about the session not being able to be started. The standalone installation of phpMyAdmin works perfectly, nevertheless.
it is true that you need to have some skills in computing.
If it's too complicated to unpack and install it, I want to know how do you install phpMyAdmin without unpacking ?
Installation from the ZIP file is possible depending on your server configuration.
If there is in Joomla! an option to install from a directory, I think we can use it.
I need to access the Joomla database of my clients very often.
Usually access is hard to get but with this, I can easily access the databse, export backups and make database updates.
Basically its PHPmyAdmin right from your Joomla Administrator window,
Download time > 30 seconds.
Install time > 1 Minute.
Access to database in less than 2 minutes !
To the developers, this component is excellent.
Thank you very much !
please read the installation instructions first, you must unzip the file and install from a directory and not directly from the file.
2nd: check your php configuration for the script timeout.
I'm building a new website and this tool helped me to understand the way Joomla and CB keep the information and configuration.
I recommend it for newbies that want to take a look under the hood.
Ok, don't forget to secure the installation folder.
Great for when you have a server but no direct phpmyadmin access.
