Expose Flash Gallery Popular ComponentModuleLanguage

Exposé is a Flash-based tool which allows you to create eye-catching slide shows of your pictures on the web. A list of the features supported by exposé includes the following:

- direct linking to a photo or album
- a slide show can be automatically started
- a background/foreground image can be loaded
- more interface elements can be now customized
- smoother Interface
- iframe has been removed, full php integration
- easier to adjust the size using only the expose.html.php
- improved background color adjustments
- check_system.php script added for troublshooting
- supports SEF URL's (being re-worked currently, limited functionality)
- upload/add background image through Joomla backend

The small footprint of the Flash clips and an intelligent loading of resources allow even dialup users to have a seamless experience viewing your photos. exposé is FREE for personal use.

The PHP Album Manager has very strict system requirements but is not needed to add new pics to you gallery (this is just another option if you have these extensions on your server). You can also install the Windows (or Mac) Album Manager found here: http://www.slooz.com/trinkets.php

After you have downloaded the Album Manager login to your server via FTP and change directory to [JoomlaRoot]/components/com_expose and copy down the expose folder to your desktop or anywhere you know where to access it at. Lastly, open your Newly installed Album Manager and it will ask you where you expose folder is, just point it to that folder and you can edit away.

After you are done when you close the album manager it will ask you if you would like to save your configurations, Click "YES" and then re-upload the folder and you are all set. Create a Joomla Menu pointing to that component and it will look awesome!

This component is a bridge to the Expose Gallery found here http://www.slooz.com This bridge is released as GNU/GPL but expose is under its original author's license agreement found here, http://slooz.com/trinkets.php?proj=expose If you have any questions please feel free to leave comments and/or suggestions in the forums listed below.

very good looking gallery, but unlike OZIO there are no different gallery styles

and the main disadvantage - Russian language is not supported even after support proposal how to fix it
I wanted to do just 2 simple thing. Remove Help Button "?" in the flash or edit it and change the loading. I asked and its been long and no help since.

I get some errors in localhost and it is simple boring. Since no help I am completely struck with this and I am finding some other good thing to switch for...

Because this is a bridge for Expose from http://slooz.com/trinkets.php You can not remove the Help icon because of the authors copyright. This is why you were not able to easily remove it.

Please rate this on use or features instead of not receiving help for a free piece of software.

This is by far the best free Joomla gallery.
Simple yet highly configurable.

Some webservers will require adjustments to the 'save session path' and 'permissions' though.
The creator should better address these in the user manual.

Other than thet, fantastic.

I have installed a great many galleries. A great many websites including a great many Joomla sites.

This gallery, plugin and module all work together perfectly and I mean to tell you a child could set it all up and figure out how to work it without instructions.
And they provide instructions!

Just an example, not advertising www.alaskalive.net
The scrolling thumbnails on the top of the front page is expose, and the galleries attached to it if you click it are expose.
I love it!!!
Thank you for all the work you put in on this.
This is really nice gallery, but login problems confirmed by many users and no native 1.5.x wersion is a big - in my opinion. I would like to see more customisation options, but give it a try. It's v nice to add pictures and MOVIES !
This could be a great tool for my joomla site but I have just spent 3 months trying to get it to work I am using joomla 1.5 but it would not work unless I 1.0 plug in turned on. The upload would not work it keep stalling out. The support on Expose web site was very poor. No one could help me fix my problems. If they had better support and a better FAQ page I may have stuck with it longer

The main issue with this extension is:
It is listed as native Joomla 1.5, but when you try to install it, it does not work without activating the Legacy 1.0 plugin

This is by far the best extension for photo gallery. It's easy to use and easily customizable. I have dug through the list of extensions to for photo galleries but nothing beats this one. Kudos to the developers.

Kudos to the developers.. they have made the application so customizable (setting pixel location for each button to fit with your site/preference) and have made the application very easy to install and add photos!

Btw.. the default password is: manager (documentation)

Thanks a lot! :D

I am using this component in a lot of projects.
It is easy and looks very good.
i would recommend all designers to use this product.
As a long time Joomla user (since before it was Joomla!) I have used, edited, hacked and modified more than I can remember, and have been very happy with most. However, this is the very first time I've been so happy with an extension I felt compelled to leave a review.

I needed an image gallery that would allow me to incorporate my own image titles and descriptions, as well as have images linked to external URLs. On top of all that, I wanted a professional, fun to use image gallery. After searching through standalone scripts as well as Joomla extensions I found this one. It was everything I needed!! Perfect!

The documentation is extensive, and yet I was able to use "out of the box" with little effort. I thought it would be perhaps heavy reading and configuring, but nope! Very intuitive interface, easy to customize. I LOVE it!!

That is very great job! Thanks you!

Thanks!

Extremely easy to install. Very flexible to customize any way you want to. The best media gallery so far from all i test it.
Very good looking and usefull extansion

Some language and character problems

*if I enter a _,I,i, character for an album name it breaks down totally and then I have to install it again.

*characters _,I,i, are never displayed

* Only Flash videos are supported

But... i couldn't use cirillyc to set an album name and so on, otherwise it's VERY VERY VERY good. I'm a developer too and i know how much tough work that is. I hope other people think about that too and donate.

Thank you.

Joomla 1.5.6 - PHP 4.4.9 - MySQL 5.0.67 - Shared Hosting Package 1&1 Web Hosting

I have been a faithful follower of this extension, one because it has a 1.5 native version, and two it does everything I need a photo/video extension to do (multiple file upload is a huge plus) all in a very slick and quick shell (both for the viewers and for the administration).

However, one problem that I and others I believe have is that I am unable to upload any pictures (on a localhost development machine or a web host), either directly or by ftping photos to the bucket. It either says the pictures are uploaded but are not actually there, or it just stops when trying to trying from the bucket. And I think this problem has been around for a little time. Checking on the developers forums shows threads, but no sovling responses ( and little responses at that).

I love this extension for the potential it has, but I have not been able to use for this one problem (which has gone on for some time). One it is fixed, I will make the switch, but until then I will have to use a substitute.

Once you get your head around the basics behind Expose, it's a really great tool!

I can now add an amazing looking gallery in super-fast time and get images on-board so quickly!

I would love to see a list of URLs for the galleries - right now, to hot-link to a specific gallery I have to pull the gallery ID out of the XML file (no biggie, just not the best!)

The number of configuration options might be a little much for some people but you can see that Josh (& co) have really thought this through at the microscopic level to make Expose as powerful and flexible as possible.

THANK YOU! :)
