All it does is sit in a module location and translates the site into the language the visitor chooses (depending on Google availability and accuracy). Very similar, if not exactly like every other translate module.
No settings, it just works. Install it. Place it in a Module location. Enable it. Ensure it is visible on all pages. Refresh. Done.
Not rocket science. Simple and effective. Created and tested for Joomla 1.7.3 (and now J1.5!)
New as of Jan 25, 2012 - Thanks to Chris Potter (http://chris-potter.co.uk) for modifying the code to work with Joomla 1.5! Woot!
Both versions are included with the download. Files are named appropriately.
It works well on my site. I'd tried others and always seemed to have conflicts galore. SMUG Translate delivered results and was easy to set-up. Takes up minimal space and translates quickly. I recommend it.
I've only given it a GOOD review since I miss a few to me pretty important features.
1. I would love to be able to change color on the drop down list it self.
2. I'd love to be able to change color on the little part that show on the page "select language" part.
3. For some reason I get a translation bar on top of my page when I go to my site with internet explorer. Firefox is fine tho.
It was really easy to install and works great, worked straight out of the box and actually translates my site.:)
Great work, keep it up.

I have tried the regular Google Translate option: http://translate.google.nl/ for my webpage, but that didn't quite work the way I expected (only got the sitemap). This module does exactly wat the description says it does. Simple to install and besides positioning the module, no further configuration needed!
