With Google Dictionary / Translator you can let your visitor to type sentences & convert language in Chinese (Simplified & Tradtional), Italian, French, Dutch, German, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and English in two directions.
This module promises much - it seems that there is not a whole lot of choice out there for word translation modules that occur on site. This great tool does just this, but it comes at the cost of a blantant link back to the devlopers site which is hard coded into the java script, along with a callback to the developers site. Building complex sites for clients I am hard pressed to explain to them why there is a link in this module so it becomes unusable really, which is a shame.
This module is easy to install, once registered on their site, download, unzip and install into Joomla and publish.
It does what it promises but does bring some extra, not so welcome, stuff... like a link back to the creators website, a row of stars that are each linked to something... this takes away from the professional look many may want to get.
Also, the width of the translation fields are adjustable - but nothing else... the hight of these fields can't be altered ...there is a permanent title "Instant Dict Widget" that can't be removed and also there is no way to get rid of languages that you don't want available.
It does its job, so I give it a "fair".
