Indic Writer

This module converts Roman characters to their phonetic equivalent in 9 Indian languages including Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Persian, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Oriya.
There are 2 modules. Each module uses different libraries/API.
1). Indic Writer based on Pramukh Library
2). Indic Writer based on Google Transliteration API
Both modules produce same result. You can use any of them. But both have some limitations..
- Pramukh library does not work with editor while Design Mode is turned on(but works fine if you toggle it to HTML mode)
- Google API works only if you are connected to the internet.
** Front-end module is available now **
Waiting for your valuable feedback :)
Just one issue, when I tried to install it, I could not find the document file attached to it for installation purpose.
I have installed 1.6 as a fresh setup and wanted to install this great extension...I have used extension manager to install this and no errors were reported.
Can see it as a new module as well in the list of modules, but dont know to make it work for 1.6...that is what stopped me from giving it a 5 star.
But otherwise till now, in 1.5 it has worked great.
Thanks Sushant!
We will consider your suggestion in next version.

please help me in solving this problem

Hi, Glad that you liked this module.
In order to work this module properly you have to set your database's collation sequence to UTF-8. You can use phpmyadmin to change collation. After changing collation you can see all new content in Telugu.
Now My members can reply in gujarati easily.
I installed "Indic Writer - Google Transliteration API" modules at fontned and backend both but It is not working with editor or at backend when writing atricles from backend.
I hope there will be a solution very soon.
Once again. Thank you very much for this great extension.
Full Marks to it.
Cheers. :)
It works fine in joomla 1.5.22

My only question is - how does one do this in the admin site? For example, I had to create an article on the admin site and then edit it in the front end to include Kannada characters. It would be great if I could do all my writing in the admin site.
Another suggestion - it would also be great if this could be an editor plugin. So while typing content into the editor, I could choose which language I could type in :)
All in all, a good plugin if you want to quickly mix in different languages into your website.
Thanks for your Positive review! It means a Lot!
For admin, Same modules are also available! In Download area admin module files are suffixed with "-admin". e.g. mod_indicwriter_pramukh-admin.1.0.0.zip

I have some points:
1) Many of Indian Joomla web administrators looking for indic writing solutions to their online contact forms such as guest comments & feedback. Is it possible to provide this nice extension to front-end, enabling the readers to utilize it while filling the forms?
2) The word "plug-in" in your module description is bit confusing.
this is my first ever review on joomla.
my company needed hindi font for our portal.
this module provides it but only to admin.
this product needs further enhancement :
1) front end publishers also can publish their articles in hindi.
Thanks,
Honey
Thanks for your such a positive review! Front-end module will be released within next 15 days.
