The free version has a backlink to faboba site. You can remove it if you upgrade to a basic or standard version without losing your translations and parameters.
The Free version has no limitation.
Falang doesn't use the default language system of Joomla 2.5 and 3.3. You don't have to specify a language for each content article or menu item (which results in a huge amount of duplication).
Did you ever ask yourself how you can create a multi-lingual website without copying every single item and re-creating them in the new language? Then Falang is one of the possible answers to this problem.
In case of problems look for the solution in that page: falang’s problems resolution
Falang is a fork of Joomfish 2.1.7 which has been re-written to be compatible with Joomla! 2.5 and now Joomla! 3.3
+ fix front-end message on successfull save.
+ fix order number problem in hikashop and front-end edition.
+ set different message for free and paid version for front-end edition.
The only option I can't find is to display the language based on domain (so .de is german, .fr french, etc.)
I loved this component, I tried at first the free version menus, article and modules have very good market by 5 munites cons I have not succeeded in translating two components (widgetkit and rsform ) but thanks to the support professional stephane I could have my website translated carefree and not even 10 munites! I'm flattered! thank you very much Stephane! it is very pleasant
There are two good news. 1. FaLang is a perfect and simple alternative to manage multilingual sites that just works, and 2. The support is outstanding. Stéphane's quality of support is top notch to the point of raising the question: does that guy ever sleep?
We used the FaLang component and Joomla 2.5.1.
The component has worked out great for us. The support from the author was very fast and responsive.
The component is easy to install and use. We did some adaptions to be able to translate site specific content (event/calendar functions), and didn't encounter any problems in doing so.
I was really glad to find something to bridge the gap in 1.7. I bought the license because I needed to turn 2 project quickly.
Stephane was really responsive given the time difference. I am in US, she is 12 hours difference... I think.
Falang does not require you enter publish dates.. it does it automatically. So this is better than Joomfish
It installs easily and worked fine out of the box. Stephane's documentation is so easy a beginning Joomla person should have no problem.
Very cool fork! Thank Stephane!
So I wouldn't say it has a stable release of the component.
Your review is strange because it's work for everyone with the menu.
But today I came accross a really anoying bug. After I translated some menu titles, alias, refreshed the page the translation did not show up!
Everything seems to work ok, I mean, translating content, modules etc, just the menu translation does not work. Please let me know if somebody experiencing the same problem.
Contact me by mail too fix it.
