It would be wise if you double check your order before complaining in public. Your account was activated automatically but to the user you applied for not for a different one.

Love package. Major job to complete but worth it.
As far as I can see, does not auto translate content, that has to be done 1 step at a time, 1 language at a time Part of a dual process so you also need language packs, some of which seem to have disappeared. A great idea, hard to get working for a number of languages. I am using GTranslate as temporary stopgap as it will take so long to finish. Page links via flag click to another initially blank page that will hold the translation. So translation could be perfect, looks great but hard work to install all processes.

This plugin is completely doing for me what I wanted: to publish my own translations and preserve my joomla-layout. It looks really sophisticated. I like the flags, no need of a language to understand where to click. The tutorial video was very helpful. After viewing it, it was really easy to install and work with this plugin. Thank you very much, Alex!

I have been using Joom!Fish for about a year now. There is no other component that even comes close. Its easy to use & once you "get it" it's very fast to translate entire websites, it does so flawlessly.

If you don't know how to use it and are not keen to taking the time to learn this will be an issue. Any average person can figure it out...

Thanks Joom!Fish!

Very useful for a multi language website. If you do not need multi language, don’t install it , it produce unnecessary overhead

Does exactly what it says and more. Great for managing multilingual sites and associated translations including the default language which imy case was most useful to change that "Welcome to the Frontpage" bit of the default English language pack directly via the interface. Fantastic and very flexible product.

I am bipolar, moody, angry as hell and ready to shoot myself! There is no support for this module and the documentation, tutorials and videos are all useless. I have been at this now for days and days just to get a simple article translated. I still can't figure out if it's meant to translate things for you or if you have to do it manually (What's the point of that?) That is how poor the information is on this component is.

Editors Pick? You must be joking!

It simply doesn't work. All I get is the English duplicated into where the German should be or blank spaces with nothing in them. Hello! I don't speak German and that is why I loaded this **** component to do it for me.

I heard it uninstalls nicely - 10 points for that! Obviously the best feature! *uninstalls*

It is a shame because I really think that Joomfish is the best, free multi-language extension for Joomla. However, Joomfish does not support PHP 5.3. If I am wrong, could someone please provide me with a download link?
I can not wait anymore for Joomfish to release a public, PHP 5.3 supported version (2.1), so does anybody know a good alternative solution to Joomfish with similar functionality? Tnx.

I've been using Joom!Fish for translating a website to a couple of languages, and it works like a charm!

It's very easy to use, and does exactly what it promises! Saved me a great amount too!

The ones that complained about that the component didn't translate the text for them automatically without them having to write the translation them selves, haven't read what the product is about!

I contacted the developer about a question, and was answered in a very kind way within the same day.

Great product, get it now!

I would definatly recommend Joom!Fish to everyone. I think people shouldn´t expect Joom!Fish to work with all plugins / components / modules. There are just too many out there and please think again! This is for free!
I also had to do some troubleshooting, but browsing a bit through the forum solved my problems!

I would give 4 and a half star, but as this is not possible I´ll give you guys 5! Keep up the good work!!!!!!

Its not the kind of thing that you just install and use. Their web page has 6 categories under documentation, but dont expect any to help you use this. Half of it is written for people who have never seen a cms, the rest seem like its written for some other plugin or something.
Its not really intuitive. Expect to burn time on it.
I guess once you figure it out it may work ok, but this is no longer 1990, the stuff that doesnt work without trying gets thrown away.

Installed and was able to use with many extensions. It looks pretty good. Sadly, it wont with Community Builder 1.2.x. Looked at the support forums but nothing there. Uninstalled until it support CB.

When it comes to multilingual sites, JoomFish is all you need. The only thing that prevents me to give 5 stars is that dev documentation didn't satisfy me (it's really difficult to get info about writing 100% HoomFish-compatible sql queries in Joomla development). Anyway, I really suggest it to you if you are creating a multilingual site!

This fish is an excellent and very powerful tool. Indeed, in my view there is no alternative if you want to have a professional, multi-language site. Also making it making it by hand as proposed in one of the reviews here is something I want to disencourage everybody. I have some experience with a large web site that I started 10 years ago with ASP. It is too complex and maintenance in several languages drives you crazy for a large site.

The Joomfish has only one small drawback. It is a bit tough in the beginning. The installtion went smooth. Then you want to take your first steps and go to the Joomla control panel, and you are confused.

My major problem was that whenever I had to select a language from the drop-down box, I never knew if I have to select my source or my target language. I think the developers could do a lot with little effort to ease these problems with a step-by-step tutorial. Also some tool tip information next to the language selection boxes would help, and maybe a better wording on the translation form by using such unambiguous words like 'source language' and 'target language'.

There is indeed a lot of documentation - text, videos and a forum. But it is a bit here and a bit there, but you do not get the whole picture. Therefore my main advice, first take half a day to read before you go into action.

A few more tips: Use Firefox. I got an "error on page" message when I used the 'Manage Translations' function with IE8. (this function is not really necessary in my view).

In my experience you need mainly the 'Translation' menu. That page is your main tool. And when your basic language is let's say English and you want to tranlate into German, then select "German" from the drop down box, and from the "contents elements" box select something easy to start with like your contact page. Then check how it works. Once you got the hang of it, it is a charm and big fun.

In spite of the little criticism I decided to give a full 'excellent' rating. It is an excellent tool, and guys let's not forget that we get this for free!
