Version 1.4.0 for Joomla! 1.7 & 2.5 is released (28 January 2012). With this version users of your site can modify data online, upload pictures, etc. All features use Joomla's ACL.
Stable version 1.3.3 for Joomla! 1.6 is released (June 2011)
This version fixes some problems, reported by various users and adds a new view to the component: Locations.

I have been using JOAKTREE for some time now and I truly believe it is an amazing app! It gives me a chance to share my information with the online community! Thanks for developing it for us!
I decided to build a family tree site with Joomla 1.6 to make use of its ACL feature. Joaktree is the ideal component to compliment this. Getting your GEDCOM file set up takes a bit of care, but the documentation is very good and detailed.
I particularly like the way you can integrate custom articles with your tree members. I had a query about article linking, and the developer answered back in hours with a solution. You rarely see this response with commercial support.
I have no hestitation in recommending this excellent component.

I installed yesterday and had my site up and running in 2½ hours. It installed flawlessly and worked - it keeps the promises.
Now I'm into tweaking the settings.
My favourite extension for genealogy, tried others as well but this one beats them all.

Wow! Great program. I had one minor problem which I solved quickly. My genealogy software created a GEDCOM file as version 5.5.1. I used a text editor and changed the version from 5.5.1 to 5.5 and Joaktree accepted the GEDCOM upload with no problems. I look froward to future enhancements.

Issue with version 5.5.1 is resolved in Joaktree component v1.2.4.
