JoomBible

The Bibles, Commentaries and Dictionaries are downloaded apart from the actual component. So you are free to install only the modules that you want. You want to install it in your church's website, and all the user's read only in English? So you have just to download King James module. You want to offer them study tools? So you can also download the Strong Dictionary and Keil & Delitzsch commentary.
You want to offer to your users some Bibles in the original languages, with Strong Numbers in each word of it? So you can Download the Tanach (Strong) or the Textus Receptus (Strong). Each one of these Bibles has clickable Strong Number references. Once the user click in a word, the Strong definition of it will be loaded in the Dictionary window. It supports Catholic Bibles too, though we didn't have one at the moment.
You can also search for a Strong Number in the dictionary or in the Bible with Strong Numbers. And when your user click in a verse, its commentary will show up in the Commentary window.
The component uses AJAX to download module's content to the user.
If you want to build your own Bible, Commentary or Dictionary module, it's also too easy. Each module is compounded by XML files. The administration help files can help you to build new modules. If you open the XML files in the modules, you can also understand easily how they are structured.
Through the JoomBible menu in the Back-End, you can install a new module, delete installed modules or move their position. You can also translate Bible names through Joom!Fish.
You can configure the height and width of the windows, the color of these windows and search time.
New 0.9.4 version!
This new version has now the ability to display Bible reading plans for your users.. It also comes with two plugins: one inserts a Bible verse in your articles, and the other is a button in the editor, that make this insertion more easy. The reader will have the verse of the Bible that he choose in his preferences.
About convertion to other Joomla versions.
Now that I finished this version, I'll work in the translation to other Joomla versions.
About convertion tools:
A lot of people asked me about convertion tools. I've tried to programm one, but I'm not able to make that kind of programm... So you'll have to be patient...
Observation: The JoomBible component relies on the PHP5 class SimpleXML. Make sure your server has PHP5 installed in order that this component works correctly.
Yes, the new version of JoomBible already works with MooTools 1.2. You may check if is really JoomBible that's not working now that you use MooTools 1.2. I've helped a friend which site was crashing, not because of JoomBible, but because of other component for fast updating. The problem is that any Javascript problem that happens, stops the Javascript execution, and every other component that rely on Javascript to work, like JoomBible, stops working.
Thank GOD that I can install all the commentarys you provide on your site by remove some book files (limite to small size of files for install) and rearchive it, then install with "add extensions in JoomBible component". After that, use FTP or login your server cPanel, upload those Books that you remove to locate in "component/com_joombilbe/comments"
By the way, we are appreciated you developed this greate component...
May God bless you with His grace in our Lord Jesus Christ...Amen!
The YLT ,KJV and ASV are not actively used in churches today as per my understanding. If ESV or NKJV or other (FREE) modern English translation are available for this module, this can be top rated.
Anyhow, I have sincere gratitude for the author for his efforts. Labor in the Lord is not in vain.
Hi jayatunge,
As I told you by email, the entries in Strong dictionary are the Strong numbers, and is for them that you must search.
In regard to the Bibles, my intention is that everybody could make their own Bibles, Commentaries and Dictionaries, and then share with others.
We must see if these new versions are free to host in our websites...
Can you tell me how you can add other Arabic translations that are not on your site?
In Christ
Hi, Alexi!
Unfortunatelly, I couldn't make a Bible maker yet... I'm studying in order to make this programm, but it will take some time...
Two persons are already helping me in the task of making Bibles, but they are using Text processors to accomplish that... If you are interested in contribute, you can go to my website and send me an email... I'll try to guide you, or I'll try to make more Arabic Translations...
Thank you for the reply!
I am so glad to have found this extension! Major thanks to the developer!
Thanks for your help, kaenc. With it, I could find another bug. God bless you!
Thank you, megant.
I hope to help all churches to spread God's Word... And I hope to receive feedbacks too, in order to improve this component.
