Version 2.18 is the latest version. Now also support Joomla 3.0.
In Joomla 2.5/3.0 (1.6 and 1.7) the plugin can be upgraded automatically with the upgrade feature of Joomla at the extensions.
This is the last version where Google Maps API version 2 is supported because this Google Maps version 2 is deprecated from 19 May 2013. So please migrated to Google MAPS API version 3 (set the version to 3.x in the configuration of the plugin).
Also added language support for all the parameters: English, French, Italian and Spanish.
Please send me language files so I can add them to the plugin. Goto my website to contact me.

(when editing article goto html view to remove returns or < br /> when you copy this example)
2.18 is a stable version and the following changes are made:
* Joomla 3.0 ready
* Parameters to show Twitter tweets on map
* Google Maps V3:
- Added transit, bicycle and traffic layer and to the directions
* Check for textarea's besides editor so it can be used in frontend editing
* Add css file and css parameter for google maps to solve css problems of templates or extensions
* Use Joomla framework for standalone php files
Solves the following errors:
* Vertical/horizontal slide of the map with new versions of mootools
* Several bugs in Lightbox for v3 and added a css class
* Several bugs in geoxml for v3
* Several bug in Google Earth maptype with the infowindow

This plugin is very powerful but very easy to use at the same time!
The example page is the best tutorial I've ever seen, direct and easy.
The developer made me an help in order to fit this plugin inside my WEBSPACE.

I am just new with joomla and webdeveloping, so it was quit hard for me to find the right modules!
So endly i found this googlemaps plugin, but i had not enough knowledge to install this properly.
I sended Mike Reumer an email for support.
He reacted directly helped me, by helping me installing the map module.

It's the the best PlugIn I have used for maps, and I have tried some of them. The support provided by Mike Reumer is fast (response within the day).
For those who want to place a GoogleMap on module position (that was my problem) the solution is placing it in an article and using the CustomContent Module (here following: Editing /Custom Code in Modules).

I used some other Google map earlier but i was not able to integrate with my code, but with this module it was just few minute job.
Me and my client both are happy with this module.

I think this is one of the easiest extensions I have ever used!
The only trick I found was the map key google supplied for www.mysite.com did not work - instead I had to use the key for mysite.com (without the www.)
Other than that it took about 2 minutes from download to finished! That's rare with most extensions.

Excellent plugin ! and futhermore, an incredible hotline! Mike replied in less than a few hours... and the problem was linked to the css of my templates ! Great job !
A while back I wanted to include a GoogleMap plugin on my website that works like GoogleStreetview, but without streetview. I wanted a specific Google Map & Directions layout. A few days later Mike emailed me the modified plugin, and it worked exactly like I wanted it to.

Easy to install and setup. A beginner can get a map online fairly quickly. If you decide to dig deeper, there are plenty of demos and documentation on Mike Reumer's website to help you along. I got stuck one time, contacted Mike, and received the solution in less than a day. A perfect extension with perfect support. Thank you Mike!

Does what it says and more. I have used this extension on several sites and it has always been very easy to use and is extremely customizable. Only once had trouble, and it was not due to the extension, but Mike got back to me with a solution almost immediately. Great plugin, great support. If you need to display maps on your site, look no further.
