Version 2.18 is the latest version. Now also support Joomla 3.0.
In Joomla 2.5/3.0 (1.6 and 1.7) the plugin can be upgraded automatically with the upgrade feature of Joomla at the extensions.
This is the last version where Google Maps API version 2 is supported because this Google Maps version 2 is deprecated from 19 May 2013. So please migrated to Google MAPS API version 3 (set the version to 3.x in the configuration of the plugin).
Also added language support for all the parameters: English, French, Italian and Spanish.

2.18 is a stable version and the following changes are made:
* Joomla 3.0 ready
* Parameters to show Twitter tweets on map
* Google Maps V3:
- Added transit, bicycle and traffic layer and to the directions
* Check for textarea's besides editor so it can be used in frontend editing
* Add css file and css parameter for google maps to solve css problems of templates or extensions
* Use Joomla framework for standalone php files
Solves the following errors:
* Vertical/horizontal slide of the map with new versions of mootools
* Several bugs in Lightbox for v3 and added a css class
* Several bugs in geoxml for v3
* Several bug in Google Earth maptype with the infowindow
I tried some Google maps plugin but this one is the best. Support is also excellent.
If anybody use Rockettheme template and you have caching and gzipping ON in its setting (Rockettheme template settings), you must switch it OFF or switch the plugin settings to timeinterval. But it is a problem of Rockettheme. Good coder could probably fix the problem, but I am not a coder.

It's a really great plugin I used in several projects. And the contact to Mike is really helpful...
Some problems with the encoding (german umlauts in the tooltips) inside the joomla database, the geoxml renderer, the downloadable kml file - but everything is fine now !

I've used this for quite sometime now, and it works GREAT! Most recently upgraded to Joomla 1.6. Had a bit of a problem (mine - not developer), AND he was so prompt and 'courteous' to point out my error.
Really - there is no need to keep looking. I would encourage you to support developers as this, for their time and energy. Awesome job - Thanks Again!

Really easy to use and config.
Worked 100% until last month when I had to update to last version.
It stopped to show the map. Now it works on Firefox and Internet Explorer, but does not work on Opera and Google Chrome.

This is by far my favourite plugin. It is incredibly adaptable without needing two brains. Allows everything from simple display maps to mashing latitude, kml and other overlays. Customs icons, why go on there isn't enough space here to tell it all.

This plugin does exactly what I want, without difficult technical stuff. I must say, as being a Joomla Component PHP developer myself, I couldn't have done better. It's a big help of all members of the GoldWing European Federation because they can plan their journeys to the international treffens in advance very easily! Thanks for this great piece of development.
We use the Googlemaps Plugin for displaying locations on a map. All was working well. We moved to a production server with encryption with SSL/https. Suddenly the markers disappeared. We requested support, received a quick reply from Mike and we were able to solve the 'problem'. So, a positive review is least we can do!
I develop "dealer locator" websites, and found this plugin excelent! It does everything i need, and it does well. Reccomended!
After installing this plug-in and adding map to article I have a beautiful map with easy installation. However, I was unable to access my temple manager instead showing error msg. I have seen others with the same result after plugin installed, but have yet to see the fix.

Alpha version 2.13a had a bug with the validity of the html and this is solved in 2.13b.
