1.Install the migration tool on your Joomla 1.5
2.Export the data
3.Use JUpgrade to migrate your site to Joomla 2.5
4.Login to the new Joomla 2.5 site
5.Install the migration tool on your new Joomla 2.5
6.Import the file you’ve exported
Don’t waste your time migrating manually. Really, don’t try it!
It can take hours to migrate all your data manually from the database. The two versions of Joomla use different database structures, and what you expect to be an easy bit of site management quickly descends into a neverending troubleshooting. That’s time that could be better spent building content, marketing your site — and making money!
