Ced's Sobi2 import plugin is very good and simple to use. It makes my work much faster and simpler. I have imported about 10 000 products in couple of hours. Good support via forum. You'll be satisfied.

When left with a daunting directory website conversion I looked into the available import CSV tools for Sobi2. Because I wasn't sure how it was going to work and feeling a little strapped for cash I went with the least expensive of my options. After a few tweaks and a weeks worth of very excellent support from Cedric, I was able to convert my directory listings to Sobi2. The main problems I had was just figuring out how to setup my CSV and get it ready for import. Once that happened, it was beautiful. Excellent Price, Support, and Tool, hands down. Thanks for making this available.

I am an avid buyer of low cost extensions that save time. This is definitely the case here as this import plugin for SOBI2 works great. The cost of a few bucks saves an enormous amount of time, there is nothing but good about that!
The bonus also is the developer is active on his support forum every day and follows up until you are completely satisfied. (I initially had issues with my import file, but he went out of his way to help)
Glad to recommend this ext.
Cheers!

ok, purchased the module
installed it and fellowed the instructions on the website, all worked great.
Even added a field call icon and image.
Set them as HTML, which allowed to import a icon and image with the import.
all good fella's, good job

New version in in test phase, it's now a SOBI2 plugin, and include the icon and images traitement natively.
Sobi2 gallery is projected for the next next release ;-)

Why to get this script for importing?
First of all its the cheapest.
Cedric helped me personally via his forum.
It worked!
i made this work with excel and notepad.
i had NO idea notepad could create csv document.
Follow his direction on his site (use the forum).
Keep in mind these few things:
use notepad and you HAVE to add the .csv extention IN THE NAMING of the file. you have to type it in!! it will convert auto.
when i installed the module and retrieved my headers, i imported them and the headers didnt import from notepad to excel so i had to type them in. not a big deal considering it didnt take long and the importing was going to save me years.
more important hints:
1) the default and instructions say to use ";"
but excel, (well mine anyway) would not use ;.
and when saving, it would tell me it was losing info (meaning it was converting to "," instead.
so make sure you make note throughout the process.
2) you MUST use at least one category !!
3) when you copy and paste watch out for those comma's or ';' if you are able to use ';'.
you hit test and it will give you line errors.
go back to notepad and find the 'go to' line and enter the line and look it over. in my case there were commas separating words within my import, but the software was thinking it was an action. like so and so, inc.
it would see that comma and it would error because there was an extra comma... which leads me to my final hint.
4) you have to have EXACTLY the same amount of commas or ';' as items in the header. (title equals the company name).
if your header has title and 3 cat's and 7 fields, then you need to have 11 items. where you are NOT filling in info, you STILL need that comma!
i think those 4 hints will save someone a day that i spent working this stuff out.
OVERALL it was easy easy!
SO BUY IT!

I had to import more the 1500 entries in an index.
I have chosen SOBI2 and Cédric Pelloquin made the import module.
Easy and fast !

Author went out of their way to help us out and offered us a refund if it didn't work out.
Lucky for us we didn't need one, it worked perfectly and we're really happy with the results and great support that goes the extra mile :)
