- This extension requires registration to download.
It is very easy to manage and user friendly, you don't have to worry if you have thousands of users into your database, because ARRA User Export can handle it!
Key Export Features:
- quick export (name, username, email) with just a click away
- break full name into first name and last name
- you can choose custom fields for exporting (usertype, register date, last visit date - all user fields from Joomla! that are stored in the database)
- decide the file format you want for export: CSV, TXT, HTML
- order users by chosen field (ascending or descending)
- you can get a user dump from the database (just like PhpMyAdmin does), for all the user related tables from the database
- send export file by email to the Super Administrators or to emails you'll add
Key Import Features:
- import a txt or csv file
- decide whether to overwrite settings for existing users or not
- import plain passwords or encoded ones
- generate random password if none is set (for new users)
- choose default password if none is set (for new users)
- choose default user type if none is set (for new users)
- create new user types instantly
- send email to new users telling them they have been added to your website
- choose email template to send to new users once they have been added.

I had an old joomla 1.0.15 with 20k+ users. Tried different ways to import all users to a fresh 1.7.3 install. I was look enough to find this tool AND, more important, the guys behind it.
They've helped to move all users manually, but the tool should do this for you in no time.
Don't look anymore, don't waste your time, use this one and get job done correctly.

I needed something for my website to pull specific info from the user manager and turn that info into a xls doc. ARRA did everything i needed to do and more. It was very easy to use. The support was also really good! I emailed them a few times and they answer in a matter of minutes. Thats service!
I just wanted to say thank you to the developers of this extension for getting me out of trouble. I managed somehow to lose Super User permissions on my account and I used this extension to import a Super User from another of my Joomla V1.7 sites and gain access again. I spent hours looking for information on creating a new Super User in J1.7 and could only find info on J1.5 and J1.6.
This extension did it for me in a couple of minutes and was a doddle to do - I'm happy again now :-)

Sadly the web site for buying (for Joomla 1.7 import} was very slow and a challenge to pay - but I did it.
And I found myself a little confused at first about what to do as I was not upgrading from 1.5 but bringing in a list from an external source that I had downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet.
However, once I had it sorted I was impressed - 10,670 records imported in a couple of minutes.
It all looks good - the test will be when I invite all my users to log on.
As it was a list without a password for each user there is the facility to specify a standard password for them all. Then I can recommend my users to log onto their account and change their passwords as required.
Well worth the mere $9.99!!

We are aware that are some problems with current hosting provider and site is slow from time to time and we will improve this asap.
This is a really fantastic component.
Everyone should support their products at this level. Some commercial products must learn how to support their customers like Arra does !

After purchased the component, installation was straight forward, and import/export users file between J15 is very easy. Therefore, once importing from J15 to J17, I got importing error issue. After reporting the issue to the forum, ARRA was very helpful and the responsive to the issue and quickly resolve it. A+++ for the support and the component.
Hi Thank you for your great support. After looking at all the other import export extensions this one was the only one that could do a export rom 1.5 to 1.7 (with a little help from the developer) The others where needless to say a waste of time and searching - missing files in some or just not AS good as this one.

I was afraid that with the changes to ACL, a migration of users would get fragmented. Installed the 1.5 version on site 1 (then expored), the 1.7 version on the new site, and whala - import success!

Wow, what a fantastic extension, the author has gone to great lengths to ensure that this extension not only works perfectly, but provides good documentation and information within the extension itself when performing a task (i.e. importing users)

I only downloaded this extension less than an hour ago. It took me at least 4 tries before I finally got it imported without errors. But the error messages were more of a guide for me. It even had an error file that listed all the users that I didn't get imported because they also had to validate redundacy of the email adds.
And lots of options to choose as well, even for default passwords or automatic email notifications upon import.
