Version 1.4.x (2014 August 8th):
The component view has been redesigned completely and it is more intuitive now. Tables belonging to a component are now shown directly under your component. You are also able to manage the tables and their fields all in the component view. The table list view and the field list view are not necessary anymore, but they don`t have been removed. So if you like the old list views you are able to work with them.
In the frontend the category blog layout should now work. The other category layouts have been edited to.
You are now able to override templates for each module, plugin and template. This allows you an individual design of your extensions.
JDeveloper is not very difficult for a beginner. At the same time flexible for PROFESSIONAL use.
I created a component for a few minutes.
I think you need to connect the joomla community to develop and documentation. I'd like to help.
Thank you very much.
If you are interested in helping with the documentation you just need an account on my website and write me an e-mail. I am planning plugins for JDeveloper in version 1.5.x so that users can influence the create and install process of extensions.
Unfortunately, it's not quite ready for primetime, so I can't give it 5 stars **yet** due to some basic things (like language strings and db importing) that aren't working as they should. As already mentioned and acknowledged, the documentation is severely lacking, so it's a little challenging to know if you're doing something correctly or not as there seems to be a few features that have links, but arent working.
You have to register to download, and I've yet to receive the confirmation email, though I was able to download the file. Since installation, an update has come out, so it appears the author is working on it, but is perhaps busy, or enjoying the summer.
Nonetheless - until the author can get a few basics in place it's a bit risky to commit yourself to using it. However, because it's an installable component itself, you DO have the ability to fix/change what is being generated for YOUR component, and it DOES give a nice MVC scaffold to get started from
All in all, I LOVE where this is going, and would gladly volunteer to help move the development forward.
This is a new component so some things will not be 100%.
Author website also looks new with some issues when communicating with author.
Not very much documentation exists.
Don't let any of this put you off as it is clear to me that this author knows how to put things together and make them work.
Think about what this author has done, for free, for you:
***** Your components given a maintainable head start using Joomla! standards and a regular pattern of code *****
This should be a massive help to the community at large.
Keep up the good work and many thanks for your efforts,
Thank you very much :)
This component is constantly evolving. I am working on a documentation.
