The Joomla! Extensions Directory ™

QRID IT! Module

Renewed ! This module enables QRID IT! on your site. Direct code creation, configurable sizes and local image caching for the fastest display possible. QRID generation is combined with instant tinyurl's to keep your codes simple and small for easy scanning.

Now with customizable colors !

The QRID is a 2D barcode (QR code) extended with a short link.

The QRID module has been updated with new features. It's now at V1.0 which is usable on production sites. Configurable options and new functionality are extended periodically. The free service behind QRID IT! is also actively being developed further, expect new functionality over time. leave a comment here if you like to see some feature, it may be implemented.

Why would you want to use QR codes in this way ?
- Shortened url's means a simpler code which is easier to scan.
- It may create more traffic to your site. (if you spread the codes)
- You can have a unique created code for each page-url on your site (but you don't have to)

A note to the users:
Dear users,

Thanks for your comments; support and use of QRID.

I listened to your comments and added direct QRID display.
(without the button)

Images (png's) are cached in your local /cache directory to improve the speed of displaying codes. So please make sure the /cache directory is writable for joomla, or the images won't display :-)

After updating, delete the images in the /cache for best results !

Please note, the direct download on this site is for Joomla V1.5.x
If you need the Joomla 1.6.x version, you need to visit our downloadpage.

Just type:
SCC
in the QRID input on the demo site or qrid.it site to find it.

Have fun !

It works good but sometimes i am forwarded to an anty spam website after clicking on the QRID it submit button. It would be better to show the QR code immediately without submit button.

I agree with the last review. I am also using it for some time now and it works great. I would love for it to do it automatically without the need for a submit button.

Nice job!

I'm using this one my site. However I would rather prefer that the QRID is generated upon pageload. Having the QRID IT! button lowers the visual apeal on my site. Besides in this high paced world we live in every shortcut is useful.
