this plug in can be used with other components and articles. only bug is that it does not automatically find scripture links out of Russian bible.
Have used this plugin for several years but had missed the last update which presents the much cleaner content from Bible Gateway without the distracting side menu and adverts. A great improvement.
Also, don't overlook the additional content button which is also provided making it quicker to insert links in your articles.
It installs quickly, configuration is simple and yet it immediately adds value to your site content.

Functionality is great, but doesn't work properly on my french website:
- french Bible references in the text are not always automatically recognized and therefore not always automatically set as links to Bible verses
- I use to create articles by copy/paste texts from MSWord 2007. This plugin doesn't display correctly specific MSWord caracters (typically the space caracter added automatically by MSWord when you write a question mark " ?")
I can't use it with such issues.

I give a 3 star because I believe it could be a very good plugin, but I didnt manage to make it work, not with jce editor not even with tiny, I followed the instructions (the less) and nothing work, I try to uninstall it and re-install the plug in several times but nothing to work...
Pros:

Pop-up not only includes the scripture, but advertising, web-links, html codes for webmasters, their blogs, and quite a bit more. I was very disappointed in the crowded display of the pop-up window. It looks like I'm linking to another website instead of focusing on the linked scripture.

This plugin takes 20 seconds to download, 20 seconds to upload and 20 seconds to set your preferences.... So in one minute all of your content (and also kunena forum) that have properly formatted bible references are linked to an online bible..... Couldn't be more simple!

I have been waiting for a version that works with joomla 1.5. There have been several releases, but they didnt work.
This one (1.5.2) installs and runs perfectly, except it kills my (read more) links. I really like the idea of this plugin, but I cant loose all of the read more links.
I have also tried contacting using the site and gotten no reply. Please fix this error, or tell me how.

Just what I needed, to link all of the Scripture References on my website where people could read them online!
After I installed, it gave error messages on the front-end site but after I choose to publish the mambot, everything cleared up.
And "Replace All Links" function works great!
I highly recommend this extension if you need to link to scriptures on your website.

This is an excellent mod. It works out just nicely. It's a little awkward using the { instead of [. Preferably in the future I'd like to see it use both.
Also adjusting translations in text is a little clumsy as you need to know the BibleGateway code for the translation. It'd be nice to see the ability to simply type he standard version Abbreviation in the future.
Despite the nitpicking, I have to give it an excellent rating. It does what it was intended to do quite nicely. I'm using it on my sites now. Installs easily. Works right off the bat. No fussing.
