MobStac ComponentPlugin

MobStac makes it easy to deliver great-looking, blazing-fast mobile sites that reach your customers on mobile devices.

Getting the plugin up and running is a pretty straightforward process:
1. Sign up at http://mobstac.com/
2. You will receive instructions to download and install the MobStac Joomla plugin
3. Add your site URL and your personal API key in plugin options
4. Create a sub-domain(e.g. m.mysite.com) pointing to your MobStac mobile site (e.g mysite.mobstac.com) and update your plugin options. Thus, mobile visitors of mysite.com will be automatically redirected to m.mysite.com. Get in touch with us (http://support.mobstac.com) if you need help with that.
5. Spread the word!

I toke the effort to register so I can write this review. I hate it when an extension is promoted as FREE but after you installes it and used it for a month, then suddenly you have to pay! The plugin worked excellent and was easy to tune. I was very content untill I discovered that they changed there conditions! The most and very basic version of the tool will cost you $5 per month! Again: I hate when this happenes!

Thank you for trying our plugin. If you've visited our site, we always said we were and still are in beta.

We apologize for the gap in communication that led you to believe that we are a free plugin. We recently made the transition to being a paid service with a 30-day free trial, but it appears that our Joomla page was not updated accordingly. We offered a free plan until Jan 31, 2012, but don't anymore.

I found my usual mobile installation hasn't yet upgraded to 1.6 so I tried this one.
Warning don't be put off by the description, I thought it would be more difficult with templates and the like but in 5 minutes I was done!
Thanks VERY much. You're my new favourite.
One thing is that some of the modules don't show up but ... nothing I can't work around.

Easy as breathing to get a mobile site

I had been trying lately a lot of solutions for my clients and tried mobify, mofuse et al but found them way too time consuming and intricate. Getting a mobile site up and running through MobStac was "as easy as breathing" :) .You can customize the site to the hilt and the page load speeds are incredible, though the sites currently need your site to have an RSS feed, but I guess there is a version coming soon that supports static sites as well. Great solution for content driven sites :)

Would love the plugin, but it sadly doesn't work on Joomla 1.6

Support was great, however, support could not fix the problem, the plugin was unable to get website feed, and it is not able to be downloaded into extensions.

Hope this can be fixed in the future, because it would be a great plugin to use!

As a casual blogger, I did not have the resources to make a mobile site. Mobstac not only created a custom mobile site for me but also handles automatic redirection of mobile users.

Just install and forget. Great solution!!

Requires an API key and will not use your domain to display the mobile site. It does not tell you this until after you have installed the plugin.

Thanks atwskris, for your review. As you can see, I have updated the description now.

For the redirection to the mobile site, the default is (your site).mobstac.com but you can always override this behaviour, by adding a CNAME say, m.mysite.com to your Domain Record, pointing to (your site).mobstac.com. Get in touch with us (http://getsatisfaction.com/mobstac) if you need help with that.

As for the API key, it is security measure to prevent phishing scams so that only authorized owners of a site can redirect to the mobile version through the plugin.
