embedia 3.0.1 fixes the IE related overlay(embed) bug.
embedia 3.0.1 is available either at SourceForge or Google Code (http://code.google.com/p/embedia/)
Few features we added to embedia...
embedia will not break the site validation.
embedia unobtrusively uses YUI3 for popup overlays.
embedia can take over your moseasymedia tags (after unpublishing moseasymedia mambot), so you won't have to retype all the tags you may have had.
You can see the new features on our demo sites.
more to come.....

moseasymedia 2.0.1 See "Last Update: 2008-04-17 Release 2.0.1" section below.
moseasymedia initially developed to be a content mambot to utterly ease the embedding of media files in Mambo content with the idea of giving the users a high level of flexibility for assigning different file types to different media plugins, changing embed attributes on the fly, the and generating a clean multi-browser compatible output.
moseasymedia supports media plugins and media players that support wmv, wma, divx, midi, avi, mpg, mpeg, asf, asx, swf, flv, dcr, dir, mov, mp4, ram, rv, rpm, ra, mp3, playlist files (RSS, Atom, XSPF) extensions to name a few. That pretty much covers all the media formats that exist today. Under the circumstances when the media type cannot be determined from the extension, moseasymedia tries to match the media's host domain with it's supported players. Some highlights from moseasymedia 1.0.x; moseasymedia family is extended with the addition of a replicatable module “mod_moseasymedia” and an editor extension “moseasymedia Editor Button”. In order to make the the content authors' lives easier, moseasymedia 1.0.3 bundles a couple of Web based Flash media players, such as Jeroen Wijering's JW Players 3.11, Fabricio Zuardi's XSPF Web Player. Addition of Web based Flash players made embedding FLV files, or creating playlists so much easier than ever before. CSS support is also introduced in 1.0.3 release, so that the designers can dress up their players as they wish.
Many of us already dealt with the dreaded “Click to activate” ActiveX problem with Internet Explorer browsers. moseasymedia neatly gets around that annoying detail giving the viewers a smoother browsing experience. moseasymedia 1.0.x comes with a 48 page manual that should cover all the basis of media embedding in Mambo and Joomla.
AND, LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST moseasymedia IS J! 1.5 COMPATIBLE.

After the short lived 2.0.0 release, here is a new one addressed some of the immediate problems.

This is such an easy way to publish videos! In fact, one wonders why a solution like this is not built into Joomla and all CMS, blogging engines, etc.
Actually getting the download through the publisher's website was a little awkward, not intuitive, but the effort and the small registration fee were well rewarded by the functionality of the plugin. Bravo!

I can't say enough good things about this plugin/bot.
First and most important - its real easy to use. Just download, install, and then reference the content on the page per the syntax in helpfile.
Second, the support behind the scenes is beyond expected. How many times do you get someone willing to help you tweak the plugin to your needs and even help you with things unrelated to that particular plugin. This group even helped me diagnose a CSS issue with different browsers. After allowing some access to my development site, a few changes and walla - Things are even better than before. This plugin is well worth it and does exactly what it says it does. In my case I was interested in embedding flash files in joomla static pages. If you look under the hood so to speak (examine the .javascript files used), moseasymedia even uses the much discussed and researched methods discussed in the css forums for embedding flash files. In other words, this plugin wasn't just thrown together without regard to how it works in different browsers and under different circumstances. The author obviously took some time to incorporate modular content that has been proven over a variety of case studies and real world usage. Well Done OCS!
Best of all - Support is there and ther really do help!

I have been using moseasymedia for a few months now. I had a problem with sizing the media on the page. I emailed the developer and he helped me get the correct settings and helped me until the problem was solved. It is very easy to use and makes adding video and audio files a snap.
For anyone who has written any poor ratings for moseasymedia - I completely disagree. I am a power user of PC's but not a web developer.
I found moseasymedia to be precisely what I needed to display videos on our site.
The developer CEM, couldn't be more helpful. For example, I wanted to create a playlist, and knew nothing about how to do that. That and several other questions I needed to get answered, were answered by CEM, like - real fast...
This is an impressive extension, and the support is first rate.

There are many ways to distinguish your Joomla website from another. This little mambot can make the difference between a nice website and a marvellous website! There are no other programs jet that have the possibility to integrate mov - swf - wmv - avi and other files directly into your content page! I am using it with Quicktime in combination with hot spots.
And do you have a problem (hard to believe, so easy to install), you will get a very quick respons too!

this is great, i have a very basic understanding of joomla at the moment, but was able to configure this to load my own .swf files and add on the default adobe activation script that gets around the ugly IE 'click to activate' tbug
Thank you for this bot !
I noticed something with a french youtube URL.
For exemple this URL http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=ah0K73lUcrs needs to be changed to http://www.youtube.com/v/ah0K73lUcrs.
With the fr.youtube.com, it doesn't work.
I guess, it's the same for the other subdomains.
Bye !

I just needed something simple to display on swf video
I didn't want a whole component to allow for more uploads, etc.
Simple install, simple adding of tag in content to point to file. Done.
Very nice. Was worth donating to. :)

This is as easy as it sounds. Install, follow the guidelines, and you are away. Very nice little plug-in for those of us that want to stream FLV video on our sites.
Just a few helpful pointers for other newbies:
- Make sure the mambot is published....
- Relative URLs didn't work for me, so if you don't see anything initially, this might be the case. I had to type in the absolute URL of the FLV player (ie http://www.mysite.com/mambots/content/playerflv/flvplayer.swf) under the mambot options, and just to be sure, I typed in the absolute URL in the content where I wanted the video to show up as well (ie {moseasymedia media=http://www.mysite.com/images/video/fryer01.flv}).
With those 2 bits of troubleshooting outta the way, I'm able to stream video over the net. Very nice, simple to use and great looking plug-in. Highly recommended.

You save my day, very easy to use!, and no component required, so less tables in my database :D.
In the past I had to turn off my wysiwyg editor, paste the flash code and activate again my editor.
I was thinking to buy a comercial wysiwyg for that particular flash functionality, but with your Plug in, I no longer needed, works very very sweet
thanks again:D

This bot works as expected. You can predefine the media parameters in the BOT. And what I was looking for , the ability to over ride the default media parameters. eg: media.mov predefined at w360 h240 new content tagged at h480 w 360 like this { moseasymedia media=./images/stories/clips/clip-480.mov height=376 width=480}
I suggest the ability to define a class of the wrapping div which the admin could then trick out in their site css rather than the available option of aligning the div content to the right, left or center.
Still very clean code and smartly built bot. Have a look under the hood!
