Use the tags {music}path/to/directory{/music} in any content Item and the Plugin will replace it with a table containing all of the MP3's in that directory.
The Plugin displays the ID3 tag information for title, album name, track length and size. It produces a link to download the mp3 and an embedded mp3 player to play each mp3.
Great for displaying albums/podcasts the tags can be used multiple times on a page without a problem.
The table is configurable in the Plugin's parameters, allowing the download buttons and table row colors to be changed. The width of the table can be set or left blank for 100%.

This plugin is very wonderful. It is very convenient for me to show mp3 files in my website. However, I can't play the whole album. I hope you can fix in order to the plugin can play all. I need a button "PLAY ALL". I look forward to the next version. Thanks a lot.
I have to say that this is the EASIEST MP3 extension that I've used thus far, and I've tried several. If you want something that displays nicely and simple to configure use this for sure. Thanks for helping me to enhance my site. :)

I was looking for a simple plugin to list and play MP3 files on my website. This plugin fit the bill perfectly. It was simple to install and had enough configuration available to customize it to my needs.
I did modify it slightly to ensure that it would download the file every time instead of performing the operation configured in the browser and now it works perfectly.

When it works, it works very well. It seems to be inconsistent. For example, on my xp computer it plays, but does not download (loads to apple quicktime for some reason). On my vista computer, it does not play at all, but downloads work fine. Zero as in no support or instructions at all that I can find. Overall, this works a lot better than anything else out there, but still leaves a lot to be desired. It would get five stars if it worked consistently with all os/browser combinations. As is: spotty but still far superior to anything else I have tried.

This is the plug in you want if you want to make a library of MP3 files. Just dump your mp3s in a folder, write one line in an article and you have a nice library with download button, file info and a player to listen to the songs.

Install and specify a folder, can't be any easier than that.
I think this plugin is great, its awesome, it does what it says... It is very helpful.
However, I would like to see these features in the next version:
1. Integration of streaming audio from external directories (i.e, {music}http://thatsite.com/audio/{/music} (which other plugins support)
2. Ability to set the background color of the rows to "None" (for when you have a background-image)
3. Download should work clicking on the Download Icon. (instead of having to right-click and Download To).
4. Limit the number of songs playing at a time to 1. In other words, that it wouldn't allow 2 songs to play at the same time, i.e, when you start playing a song and then you start another one before stopping the first one it should automatically stop playing the first song and play the last one selected.
I think that's it. Besides that, its a great plugin, very recommended if you are streaming audio from your joomla installation. Thanks a lot.

I've tried all the mp3 players in the jed and this is by far the best.
my experience:
fantastic having the download button - shame it doesn't download though. you have to right click save as to download - otherwise it opens in another browser as others have said.
sometimes it doesn't show all of the mp3s in the directory - i'm still trying to figure out why this is - haven't found a fix so far. BUT it doesn't always do this - sometimes it shows all of the files.
out of all the players (actually i tell a lie, i've tried all the FREE payers in the jed) this one is by far the ultimate. looks nice, feels nice, works very well. I love how it picks up the id3 tag.

I only say good rather than excellent so that the developer doesn't get a big head. always improving is a good thing.

In general all these great add-ons for music and pictures lack the needed ecommerce integration. if I were a programmer I would take it on. but alas I can only request and hope for such things.

My experience has been a bit different. I can not get the extension to work work and get no response from repeated inquiries to the developer. It shows download (but does not work), file size and time, but no Player. I have tried several templates and configurations, I really need something like this (showing entire directories) and would appreciate a solution.

This is the best plugin ever, but it will be more effective if user can sort mp3 audios files by Date order, I hope Developers will add this function too.

although i couldn't run it in my language (arabic), and had to uninstall.... hope you may fix the issue...
and one more thing.... i would like to suggest a video browser version of this plug in, in my opinion it will be more useful because it will be unique, this way if any one wants to have show or series videos together in one content page.
