Videobox

Well, first of course is standard embedded player. That's what you're most likely to use when you have one or two videos per article. All you need to insert it is to add video ID or link to HTML5 supported media between {videobox} and {/videobox} tags. Then you can customize player size, offset and more.
You think that video player takes too much space in your articles? That's not a problem. You can use box display to show only clickable video thumbnail and title in your article and display player inside lightbox. You can even set it to display player inside your article when clicked, so visitors can play video while they read through article content.
And you say you have a lot of videos you want to add to article? No problem, with use of Videobox gallery display you can add them in seconds. If you think there are too many videos for one page in your gallery, Videobox supports pagination. Even if you have multiple galleries in same article, pagination works for each gallery separately.
What are you waiting for? Give it a try!

Note that Videobox uses native HTML5 player for local videos. HTML5 standard is not supported by some older browsers, including IE8. Also, there's no standardized format for HTML5 videos, therefore some browsers don't support all video formats. That's how HTML5 standard works right now, if that's not what you like, you can still use any other extension with flash player, though most of the latest mobile gadgets don't support flash any more.
Support is excellent too.
Some CSS overlay mouse over effect for play button at thumbnails would be nice.
This is not the problem at all. It's all explained under HTML5 (local) videos section in Videobox FAQ here: http://hitko.si/support/faq/videobox#html5-videos-don-t-work-in-some-browsers-even-tough-they-re-in-supported-format THe thing is that IE8 is too old to play videos using HTML5 player (Videobox is meant to be pure HTML5 player, no flash player for legacy support). Also, Firefox doesn't support mp4 videos because it's not an open-source format, not because of Videobox. Videos need to be converted to webm or ogv format to work in Firefox, if you prefer to support older browsers and to have your videos in a single format, there are plenty of flash players in this category.
Well, Videobox 3.x is a system plugin, while Videobox 1.x and 2.x are content plugins. You're free to use one that suits you.
I found an error in the J3.0 version, and sent a message about it. A fix was available in just a few hours.
My only suggestion is that the version should have been bumped to reflect the change, just so I can be sure I have the right one installed. I'll be using this as my default video plugin.
Excellent work, and thanks!
due a misunderstanding of the tag.
So I put an email to developer whom goes beyond to reply my question, he gave me further assistance to fine tuning my video-gallery.
So it means a nice works and even more nice support.
I recommend both, videbox and its developer.
I hope the author updates this to be responsive - it'll be my player of choice for some time.
Thanks!
Easy to set (I just copied the gallery codes from the creators demo page, inserted in my article and started modifying and understanding how it is done. Great plugin parameters also.
I had an issue with system-widgetkit plugin conflicting with the videobox plugin. Support answered my question the same day.
It has various display options, easy styling, uncomplicated syntax and it's also fast rendering in the page (it feels faster than AllVideos).
It is also actively supported. As a non-commercial user, I contacted the developer on some occasions to suggest future features and ask for support. He replied quickly and meaningfully paying attention to all requests.
It has now become my main video extension.
Highly recommended.
