AvReloaded Popular ComponentModulePlugin

Attention!
A serious SQL injection vulnerability was just found in AllVideos Reloaded! A zero-day exploit already exists in the wild, which uses this vulnerability in order to steal your user-database!

All users of version 1.2.6 and below, update to version 1.2.7 immediately!

For those who want to keep their database of customized players/tags/rippers, use the package named com_avreloaded-1.2.7_SECUPDATE-WITHOUT-DB.zip and simply install it over the existing version using Joomla's extension installer. All other users: Use the regular (full) installer package.

AllVideos Reloaded is a fork of the famous AllVideos plugin, natively developed for Joomla! 1.5 and vastly enhanced with lots of invidually tunable parameters. In addition, all parameters (and more) can be individually overridden in each media tag. Internals have been redesigned completely.

Version 1.2.6 now available which just another fix for tracker item #16034.

Just released version 1.2.5 which fixes the following
problems:
- Installation issue with Joomla 1.5.10 API changes.
- Error when selecting the toplevel component menu in
the backend.

Another maintenance release 1.2.4 is now avilable
Changes/Fixes:
- DB Tables were not installed on Systems with MySQL < 4.1
leading to Error "500 Tag definition invalid or not found"
- Moved avrmodal.css and closebox.gif from backend component
to plugin in order to avoid access problems with protected
backends.
- Updated/Added spanish translation.
- Made link to documentation more prominent.
- Fixed API for thirdparty access of the "AVR Button".

Another maintenance release 1.2.3 is now avilable
This Release fixes the following problems:
- Media did not display in fireboard.
- The AVR System-Plugin did not install properly.
- Embedding big flash animations could lead to temporary
display of the builtin Flash warning, even if there was
no problem with Flash.

New Features:
- YouTube media embedded with youtubejw now shows the
preview image from YouTube automatically.
- YouTube URLs of localized sites now are recognized
in the "AVR Media" Dialog.

AllVideos Reloaded 1.2.2 has just been released as a maintenance release, fixing several incompatibilities with PHP4 that were introduced in 1.2. plus a packaging problem (ZIP) that appeared in 1.2.1
Sorry PHP4-users, for the inconvenience!

AllVideos Reloaded 1.2:
With this version, AllVideos has now evolved to a full-fledged component. The new version adds exciting new features as well as translations for 4 new languages.

Here is a short overview of the changes:
* All presets, rippers, player setups are now stored in the database.
* New: Ability to display video in a lightbox.
* New: Works anywhere! (even in foreign components or custom modules).
* New: Editor-XTD included (Editor Button for easy embedding) (Tracker-ID: #9482)
* New: Playlist Editor included.
* New: Added french translation. Jonathan Rossel and Guillaume

this is a fantastic video player. helps with displaying video on front page. would have rated higher but trying to get support on their website is confusing. trying to understand how to use video tags to stream different videos on front page, when video 1 is complete.

I really like this component but the videos do not show in IE9 so that is a big negative. Anyone know the fix.

This component would earn 4 or 5 stars were it not for the security concerns, as well as the "Adobe Flash Upgrade" message that occurs for many users who are already on the latest version of Flash.

The simple fix is to add tags around the video. I tried all the other patches and fixes recommended on various forums, and only this one worked for me.

I hope the next release of the component addresses this.

It is a very good extension, also dynamic. I use it with jSeblod on frontend and it gets the job done with 3-click video submission :)

A very good product, but requires some attention as there looks to be security issues with the code.

Hi,

Ive been using this component for a while now, its brilliant, but I just dont understand why the creators dont advertise the fix to the flash problem, and why they are allowing the problem in the first place.

I would have rated 5 star, but because the creators wont address the problem I have given 3 stars.

By the way, as one of the reviewers already mentioned below, heres the link to the patch which fixes the error, kindly posted by another Joomla enthusiast.

The component is nice and easy to use.. But there is a glitch in the software.

It tells on the frontend of the webpage adobe flash player not installed or older than 9.0.11

This is a great problem on many websites and i would rate this component with 5 stars if this bug is getting solved.

Hope this will be done asap!

I have used this plugin a few years ago for a clients site and it worked great ... it also was liked because of all the features.

I recently put it on my personal site (FirstCoastInteractive dot com) ... it works with all the major browsers EXCEPT IE9. Once I can find an answer to this bug I could not find a single reason not to rate it Excellent!

Works. Period. Smooth installation, very clear and easy to follow documentation. Button clicking implementation is a HUGE plus (no hand typing directory tags!).

Not to be pushy toward the developers, but I'm impatient. PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Get this thing working on 1.6! Until it is, I'm forced to use an inferior addon requiring hand typed tags, and that sucks. Looking forward to a 1.6 release with baited breath! Thanks guys!

I have installed your component couple of months ago , as I am using the excellent MOzilla Firefox I did not have any issue but now I have upgrading joomla version 1.2.3 all web navigator from Chrome , Safari to Internet explorer does not want to display the videos (I have more than 150 videos using your plugin)

I am so frustrated because there are no update for this beauty and as I can see from forum there are many person in the same case than me

This is what it says:
Adobe Flash Player non installé ou plus vieux que 9.0.11 (adobe flash player not installed or older than 9.0.11)

I have tried to fix it with uploading a file that I have found on the internet (change avreloaded.php) but still in Internet explorer there is no possiblity to watch the video

PLease inform the community on the way to fix this or upload a new version?

Thank you and have a nice day

Hi!

I like your extension and will use it.

But I have one complaint. For div "warnflashavreloaded" you are using visibility:hidden. But this option takes space even if set to "hidden". So the content is not visible but it takes some space displayed as blank.

Even invisible elements takes up space on the page. I suggest to use "dispay:none" property to create invisible elements that do not take up space!

I must admit that in IE9 it does not show blank space below the youtube movie, but it does in Chrome.

Kind Regards!

Hi

no doubt this is a very fine component and help me a lot as well. I have a very positive suggestion for the developer of this component if that can be acheived. I have noticed that after installing it. every time my site loads it also loads all the files which are needed to run avrealoaded plugin or component which is not necessary at all specially if you are not showing any video on a page. all i want to advise him that he/she should make some checks as well.

thanks and regards

If you don't need the popup feature or handling of content in foreign components, you can simply disable the "System - AllVideos Reloaded" Plugin to get rid of the extra includes.

We've used this on several sites, such as 4GWE.mobi. In general, it worked very well. However, a known bug - described below - that gives an incorrect error about Flash versions required our find the workaround. It's been known for months and I hope is cleared up in the new version due soon. If I have time, I'll do a tutorial because coming up to speed was tough at the beginning. There's lots of power but some of it was hard to find.

So much appreciated, but some improvements would be very welcome.

Thanks, it worked for me. I don't have the bug with Opera 11, that other guys are mentioning. Maybe it's because I've updated the JW flv player to version 4.3.

I'd tried AllVideos from JoomlaWorks but it seemed lacking. Clicking on "dim lights" caused two videos to run at the same time and the lightbox didn't even have a close button. Plus on their forum there were several postings for help on how to create a link so that a popup would appear, but no one had taken the time to respond to these postings. Other Joomla work products are great, but they seem to have neglected AllVideos.

AvReloaded has better documentation and better features. Worked quickly and easily. Highly recommended.

WOW! what alist of features. Been using this now for 3 months trouble free. I Can't get over how the developer has surley put so much time and effort into this.

The only downside for me is I have many joomla sites being converted to joomla 1.6 which this plugin does not work with at the time of writting this review. Hopefully the developer will make sure that happens as I so much want to carry on using this.

Works like a dream. There is one minor problem with Chrome/Safari that is easy to get around - just make sure you wrap the tag in a div within the source code.

I'd happily pay a donation for this but couldn't see anything on the developer's site.
