JPlayer is simple flash player plugin for Joomla! based on flash player "JW Player".
Plugin is a fork of AllVideos plugin (by JoomlaWorks). JPlayer have simplified code without unnecessary functions but enhanced with lots of usefull features.
Supporter file formats: flv, mp4, mp3, xml playlist, youtube video, srt subtitles.

Use:
After installing and enabling plugin, in WYSIWYG editor use plugin tags {format}filename|width|height|autoplay|subtitles{/format} or simple {format}filename{/format} with default settings.
With local media use filename without file extension, with remote media use filename with file extension.
If you want use preview for video file (instead of black background), place png image (name like video file) to directory with video file. If you want use jpg image rename file extension jpg to png, player can use it ;)
In remote video must have subtitle file or preview image file video extension in name too (example: your-remote-flv.flv.png).

Wow.. JPlayer is easy to install without a fuss! I recommend to everyone who wanted to have audio/video in their website.
Anyway ... it would have been better if youtube can use srt that resides in our website. I hope in the next version this will be implemented. Or is there a work around that this could be accomplished?

Thank you! After downloading 3 plugins, this one worked like a charm! I keep having cross browser issues; the others played great in firefox browser, but not in ie9, or chrome or safari.....and finding this fix for a "know enough to be dangerous code person" was daunting....you saved me! Bravo!
I had been using another youtube plugin that worked great on my 1.5x site, but it was never updated for joomla 2.5 - 3.0. This worked with 0 configuration, it even uses the same youtube tags, so I don't have to rewrite all my articles. Great job on this, saved me lots of time when cloning & migrating my old site to a new server.
I have been really amazed at the ease of installing, tell the player file location and leave everything else the way JPlayer installed. That is all I needed to do which is as much anyone without Joomla experience would hope.
The player was an answer to many other players and streaming which was complicated and unreliable.
This loads as it plays in FAST START.
Thank you for giving more time to do what I know which doesn't involve developing plugins and coding to make them work.

I've used this extension (plugin) on several of my joomla websites and it works as advertised. It's very simple to use and hasn't been a day of trouble on any of my three sites.

I tried a lot of the other popular extensions/plugins bout found JPlayer the best extension for my needs: it's a simple extension that just works out of the box. Period :-)
This is a very nice player, simple and effective.
Only: I want to add different subtitles (translations) to 1 video and this is not possible, you can only add |1 at the end to activate the subtitles.
Is there a way that it can be done?

No, this is not possible. Player support only 1 subtitle file.
I've tried it and again and again. IT DOES NOT DO WHAT I TOLD IT TO.
It's like it can't load local videos more than one time, and when I try to put youtube videos, it put it self in very low resolution.

Dear user.
JPlayer has over 120000 downloads (over 42000 downloads of newest version) and nobody complain on malfunction. If you don't know how use it, please read documentation. If you still have problems contant me by e-mail.
And... when you put YouTube video with low resulution can't expect high quality video. JPlayer just include original YouTube player with default resolution and you must manualy choice higher video resolution if is available.
