We love the quality and ease of implementation. jQuery Tools too! We are trying to set two instances of the flow player on our site, which will be set at two different sizes/dimensions. Is this possible and if so, how? Would it be better if we used the standalone version and not the Joomla mod/ext?

Great plugin and module. The commercial/free issue is not too bad once you have done the mod Dex suggested on 17th Sept. The logo only appears until the first frame is loaded - much better than the blank screen.

Note that the mod also needs adding in the same place in the plugin if you are adding media to articles. The additional file to mod is /plugins/content/flowplayer.php

Worked instantly, and nice that theres is a module, if you need that.

Very easy to install and run, an excellent extension. Only some of the functionally of flowplayer has been installed, however, and what is there is hard to understand as the forum is in Spanish.

After some experimentation with parameters based on the flowplayer.org documentation, I gave up. I also gave up on implementing the flowplayer outside Joomla and copying in the code.

As I wanted the preview image to show, I made a template override for the module and added a line as follows to switch autoBuffering on, which activates the preview image (from the first frame of the video).

mod_flowplayer/tmpl/default.php, after line 16 I added :

autoBuffering: true,

so it now reads:
clip: {
autoPlay: ' . FPM_AUTOPLAY . ',
autoBuffering: true,

Hope this is useful to others.

The Module has some little bugs and minor issues, that can be solved quick. As soon as they are it will clearly get 5 stars. ;-)

-> I had problems that my navigation and other modules dissapeared. After installing the jQuery Tools (as described on the flowplayer-site) everything is ok with the navigation.

-> The Plugin-Code is not explained in the plugin itself. Well ... just two lines of plain text would be enough, but when you are searching for them you will get mad. ;-)

That´s it. That´s the onliest issues and this two, specially the first one, reduced it to four stars. But believe me: The four stars are really worth it!

Here a feature-request for the next version:
The playlist-plugin, which is on the FlowPlayer-Site.

It´s got nothing to do with the rating, because it´s an extension for flowplayer. But I would love to have it. ;-)

Basic installation and setup was soooo easy. If you just want to get a video into an article this will do it. (Download the plugin and install it, then use the line of code the author gives in the description)

It does need some documentation for the advanced parameters. The FlowPlayer.org site is just too hard to translate for a non-coder. The few parameters I tried (eg buttons:false) disabled the player completely. Probably operator error but with no documentation how would you know?

I'm really interested in the "canvas" parameters in FlowPlayer and would love to see some documentation to get me started. The link given above takes you to some demonstration stuff on flowplayer.org, but we really need a reference manual as it relates to Joomla.

I like the things this player can do. I've found some other help online, to customize the player. There's still more to be done with playlists. I am hoping to see more playlist controls in the next update.

Installed easy. Fairly easy setup. Works good. But the support website doesn't appear to have any english section? I looked around but maybe I'm missing it. I needed some more setup info, like how to display a thumbnail/primer image and how to change the skin colour but the forum is in another language. Other than that pretty good extension.

My rating of this extension is pretty good. It's easy to use and easy to implement into your page. The only thing I don't like is the lack of access into the source code within Joomla to make the changes to the player. If you can fix this, then you will definitely get an Excellent rating from me.

This is a very cool player, and a equally cool extension for it. I did not give it an "excellent" rating as it is at v1.0. The player is capable of a lot and this extension has yet to take advantage of all of that. I am looking forward toward the evolution of this module as Daniel extends it to take advantage of this player's features.
