You can set parameters to make simple lists of categories in a section or all the way up to elaborately expansive tables. This is a must for any publisher speed demon as you can view the categorization (and relationship) of all your articles and then drill down into their content all from one page. This way you can render a page that can encompass an entire section of a site without having to first bother with highly granular menu definitions.
It's far better than a site map (as you don't need to over invest time in menus) and you see all the articles. This feature and functionality should be in the core product. Version 1.5.0.8 is the best yet.
Well done Robert!
This would receive 10 stars if it had some functionality to manipulate the images in the articles as well. such as creating a thumnail of the images in the articles and putting them next to the listings.
Nontheless, this gets 5 stars from me. Thanks!
For Roberts first Joomla component, he hit a home run!
Some future enhancements that may be nice...
1) Option to show actual "description" from the article, instead of the article; when you 'Expand Description'.
2) Show all -or- only "X" number of articles, under each component.
3) If the article is displayed. - show only "X" number of characters from the article.
4) If the article is displayed - enable/disable images.
Thanks for the great component!

First of all, thanks for your review. As to your suggestions:
1) It actually does display only the description (the intro text, this is). It actually always did. If you don't believe compare the SectionEx output to the output of a build in component (i.e. section-blog layout).
2) I added some kind of "pagination" a few versions ago. Unfortunately real pagination is still on the TODO list.
3) This would be hard to accomplish. Intro text is just a HTML string. In other words it consists of text AND HTML formatting tags. If I would simply cut the string in the middle for example, the resulting HTML would be invalid as eventually some closing HTML tags would be missing.
4) You can now do this.
Works as a teaser to readers, and I guess it is a tasty desert for the search engines as well!
