While I do agree this does module does require some CSS knowledge to implement. Also please be aware that documentation is limited on the joomla module developer's site. As an example I ran into issues with running videos. However this is totally fixable and documented but you need to go the Jquery anything slider GITHUB development page.

However with that said this has to be hands down the most powerful article slider available in Joomla. You can put anything in here. If you find a better one please let me know! I have been able to do some very cool stuff with this (which I would love to show but I don't want to violate JED rules).

I would really love to see a version for 1.7 or a road map for 2.5

The only other thing that comes close is Joslider for slidedeck. It is also is very good, however slidedeck doesn't have a good documented way to directly link to slides (at least for joomla installations). Anthingslider does allow for this. Also beware Joslider is essentially a commercial app if you want to remove the slidedeck link.

Overall this is a good implementation of the standalone jQuery Anything Slider, but I feel that the module could do with a few more parameters to allow it to more easily fit into a variety of templates.

The default setting means that unless your template accommodates a slider of exactly the width they have hard-coded into the module, you'll need to determine exactly what css attributes to override - and there's quite a few of them that affect the overall look.

Given that width and height are built into the standalone version as configurable settings, it's a shame they're not available in the module as parameters.

I do, however, love that the developers allow us to turn off jQuery in their module so we can load it on our own. All plugins should do this.

This was very easy to install, setup and use. It also was very easy to modify the style sheet and style it and size it the way I wanted.

This is great module. I'd love if you could and "Read more" button instead of entire article being showed below slide numbers.
Great job though.
