Joomla is an amazing system, but unfortunately lacks the versatility to allow you organize your content based on anything else besides menus.
D Articles Calendar expands Joomla by offering you the ability to better organize your content on a beautiful and simple to use calendar, based on dates.
Features:
-You can show the articles from any category, section or combination of them as events on the Calendar.
-You can show articles based on creation, publication start, publication end dates or publication duration (multi-day events), or use your own custom dates.
-You can specify how far in the past the calendar should look for articles.
-You can mark your elements/articles as free (green), restricted (orange) or not-free (red)(eg for room availability).
-You can select Week, month or 2-month calendar mode.
-You can select a different date format according to your location (YYYY-MM-DD, MM-DD-YYYY, DD-MM-YYYY).
-You can render the calendar anywhere in the page (not only in the module area).
-You can fully customize the Calendar's style.
-You can show your articles with fully SEF links.
Changelog (2011-02-08):
* Fixes a bug where moving to the next month skips one month.
* Added an extra day marking scheme for "News" (marked as blue).
* Changed Styling to allow IE 6 and 7 to not display previous and next month s days.
* Small rendering speed change
* Minor cosmetic changes
I bought this extension, and it's good as of others have reviewed. However it only works with small sites, up to 300 articles. More than this, it will just like a calendar! So I paid but cannot really use this module.
This limit is not stated in the feature list. The support forum said that it will be resolved in version 3.0. So buyer be ware before you pay.

Nice looking, simple, integrates with Joomla articles and flexible. A calendar should be simple, uncluttered looking and functional–that's what this is.
I bought D-Articles for a client's website, as he required a calendar to organize the articles in the blogg part of his site.
I couldn't find anything that worked better, unless spending countless hours developing something myself.
It works straight out of the box, and the css is easy to customize to make it look the way you want on your site.
Just a couple of things that could be improved.
1. The css is accessible as a parameter from the admin panel, and can be edited in a text area. Although the idea is good, I found it unpractical and moved the css to an external file.
2. D-Article doesn't pass the W3C validator. Ok, not such a big deal, a youtube page generates about 85 errors on the w3c validator! But that would be even better if this module could output clean xhtml.
Last but not least, the developer Dimitri is very responsive and offers a great support.
Thanks again

I was discussing with a client our 'wish list' of extensions and one of them was a calendar that would link to articles. And ta-da I found this one. It is absolutely brilliant. Works straight out of the box - had it installed and configured in 2 minutes and had calendar items up in no time. Simple and easy to use. Can't wait for the next version to (hopefully!) be able to show recurring events and non-consecutive events.
Excellent module, great support! Thumbs up for Dimitris!
Excellent module, excellent support :) Dimitris is the most patient man I've ever met. He explained everything. Module is simple to use but has huge functionallity, we can change css like we want. Module's installation is simple. Greetings Dimitris :)!!!
Can't fault this developer (he even replied back to an email when he was on vacation) and the plugin is the only one out there that can do everything I need and is so flexible too, well worth the money and you couldn't ask for more helpful support. Just hope he looks at developing more extensions in the future.
This module is very simple and functional! It contains everything that anyone may want ! Also support is the best i ever seen ! If i had a question i wrote to Dimitris mail and got a very usefull and detailed answer in some minutes !
I have tested many calendar modules, but only here i have found all i wanted !
For this quality and support it is very cheap ! Buy it and you willn't be disappointed !

I contacted Dimitris with a query regarding the modifying the calendar, the very next day the modifications were sent over to me, I hadnt even bought the module at that time!
If only all developers were this fast and efficient.
If this product is the type of thing u need, don't hesitate - buy it!!

This module is great. It was easy to install and implement. There are great video tutorials on how to use it on the developer's website, too.
Well worth the cost. Highly recommended.

We wanted a ajax based calendar that could list all the events in a simple and elegant way on the home page. We tried various professional calendar like Jcal Pro etc., but didn't appeal to us until we found this extension. This is an excellent module with two month view and all events can be stored as articles and reused later. The customer support is excellent and the developer replies to all our queries. This extension is more worthy than what you have paid for.
