("Place here" was suggested by a user as name for the 1.5 version of the previous "content item module" for J! 1.0.x).
A module to show Articles in module positions. Some options might be mutually exclusive. The module offers different templates and not every parameter is supported by every template. Tag support only works for the Tag module from http://www.joomlatags.org/
Some documentation is here: http://diebesteallerzeiten.de/blog/category/manual/, but when in doubt post a comment or write an e-mail (some people won't listen to what I say, though; I cannot help those).
Download Links are in the sidebar of my homepage ("Module for 1.5" or ""Content Item Module" for the 1.0.x version).
As of today (March 13th) I finally started developement of an updated version for 1.6.
This module does an excellent job at providing a feature that one would think would be built in to Joomla but is not.
This module displays items you choose, how you choose, where you choose. A specific content item can be chosen by ID, multiple IDs can be chosen, or the module can dynamically show items from a chosen section or category based on your parameters. You can indicate how many items you want, how many columns to display, and the ordering of the items. I, for example, want my homepage to show the most recent review, followed by the most recent article, followed by the most recent news. I don't want just links to them, as the built-in "Latest News" module shows, but rather the title and intro paragraph. And.... this module does exactly that.
Awesome!

I love this module. It's the feature Joomla should have built in.
I needed a simple little mod to put some static content on on certain pages at the top of my page, and in certain mod positions. I could have achieved this simply by creating a new mod and typing my content into it, but this module does that one thing I couldn't find elsewhere. Allow me to put the edit content button on the item. So now, I have the content on my frontpage and it can be edited by the publishers, and it works with joomfish... I love it.. Nice and simple.. no problems... thanx for this.
You can take advantage of this module ANYWAY to want since you can put content basically anywhere. I've used it for many things and it's really helped me out a lot! Thanks.
Very effective little widget, but it may screw up some mambot content (e.g. doesn't seem to play nice with multithumbs). Also would be nice if it could be set to check for homepage publication of content items (i.e. mimmick com_frontpage more closely, but in a user-defined location).
This is a neat little thing that does what it says it does, simply and easily. Very nice for what I needed to do with it.
Congratulations.
And, oh, by the way. They don't charge, they don't track a license (no one I know tracks the GPL) and it doesn't require any additional software.

I had none of the problems listed below. I plugged it in and it worked right away.
This module is fantastic. You can display content in any area with ease, so if you have a multi-column layout and you want to have a text item in the right column rather than the main column, this module does the trick.
Thanks a lot!

New items will show eventually, there is just a bug with the server offset time in my query that I seem unable to correct, no matter what I do I end up with the wrong time offset. So new Items will show, but a few hours after the publishing date set in the parameters. I hope I'll be able to fix this some time.

This extends the functionality of Joomla as a CMS quite a bit but needs a couple of things- most importantly, it should allow admins to edit displayed content on the front end!
I was getting real frustrated about not being able to make content appear in some of the places I needed it, and then I stumbled across this little beauty. We're not talking about adding major functionality to Joomla, but it sure does keep Joomla working for me instead of me working for Joomla. (And it looks like I'm not the only one with this need either!) Cheers!
