I really like this component and used it in many websites.
I think it's the best articles listing component.
However, I have issue with Joomfish.
I've contacted with SectionEx's support team but there is no result in 2 weeks.
I'm quite disspointed about it.
However, SectionEx is still a good function which worth to use.
Keep going.. :)

This module is a great improvement to the standard layout for showing all articles in a section, separated by category.
It's very flexible within section/category. The only thing I needed was to filter the list by a keyword. This way I could have the same list several times, but only articles relevant to the given keyword would display in each. Then I could show my lists by role!

I like the Table of Contents to list all the categories in the Section (sections) and a count of how many articles are in each section..
I dislike that even if an article is unpublished in the back end, SectionEX still displays the title and a link in the list.
I dislike that you can't list all articles alphabetically or by date order without regard for category.. I wanted to list all articles in a section.. which is what I expected this extension to do.. instead, it still groups them by Category..

Buy 1-year subscription after downloading the demo version and see the wonderful power of the component. I had a problem of compatibility between the component and my Joomla template, and I contacted tech support, I solved the problem on the same day, in just a few hours, in spite of having sought help on Saturday. In summary, the component is very good, easy to configure and very practical, I think this is an essential component for Joomla, and as for the phenomenal support, is a peace to have such personal assistance as quickly and efficiently. My congratulations to the entire team Stackideas.

Excellent extension to Joomla. Provides a nicely laid out index to any section on your site, allowing easier navigation for article heavy sites. Best part of this extension, and what set's it apart from the standard Joomla Article > Category List Layout, is the inclusion of the article titles, with the option of a text snippet. This means site visitors can easily, at a glance, view all section content on one single page.

Sectionex is great Joomla! extension. With minimum settings, in the short term, one can create articles listing. Many options make possible to adapt the functioning of the component on the site where it is used (for example sections that are processed, standard Joomla! settings, URL settings, translation, etc). Technical support is fast and good. I suggest Sectionex to everyone who wants to create article listing and directory of articles.

Overall is a very good component but found out that the category id exclusion option does not work when the user is logged in making this component a bit useless since I want my users to only see specific sections within a category.

SectionEx offers a lot of possibilities but some that you may expect. In some cases, SectionEx just show empty lists. And support is absent.

I had some pretty common issues (like had to choose front page like articles links etc.) when configuring SectionEx settings first, but found solutions in component documentation.
SectionEx does what it says it do, it's flexible enough and there're some nice "hacks" you can use to make it even more suitable to your needs. And finally - it's free! :)
I faced some problems with their webpage - like accessing forums (only search option was available), constantly being logged off and finally ending with "General Error: Module not accessible". But maybe it's just temporary or me.

I am giving this extension an Excellent rating because the extension itself is AWESOME. There are lots of parameters and definitely extended the core Joomla functions. However, getting to where I could download it was a pain. I had almost given up & reported it when I found the link. A note to the author: Don't make it so hard.

Good idea but I cannot give 5 stars because there is no parameter to select categories inside the section - ok, you may say that was not the idea but I think this component would be much more valuabe if we have the chance to select categories inside a section via dropdown list.

This is a great extension and looks fabulous in IE and Firefox. The only problem is that it doesn't display correctly in Chrome - instead it shoves all the content of the central column under the righthand column. Sadly, despite posting on the support forum for some help with this, nothing has come through.

I spent some time messing around with the various settings, getting the lists to display as I wanted - this worked fine and was easy and intuitive. However, none of the links actually worked - all of them took me to a 404 error page. I searched the forum and found the solution was to change the menu and pathway behaviour and after some trial and error bingo it worked.
It's a nice extension, but I found that bit annoying. The tool tip over this section on the admin page is hard to understand.
