There is no way you can change this in the global configuration and when displaying the source code of your site you will always see .
With this plugin you can change it to what ever you wish ! Or even leave it empty.
This is important if you don’t want search engines picking up your site with Joomla meta tags. Especially if your site doesn’t have anything to do with Joomla!
To get this extenstion you don't need to login / nor a registration or membership. I only ask a small download fee.
Great little plugin! When i start a new site, as a developer, I have a little folder I pull important extensions from to load in all my sites. This one is now in that folder.
It is easy for hackers to open up the source code and see if it's a Joomla site.I want this hidden! This little plugin loads easily and does what it says, you can even put your own meta data in there if you want for SEO.
Yes I can go into the ftp and change the code myself but as a developer of many sites, i want something quick and easy. This is perfect. I just install it, go to the plugin section and enable, done!

even if it is just 1,50€ to charge for this plug-in, the generator infos can be change for free and in just a few seconds editing the head.php file so... Might take longer to process with payment, installing and editing the meta data with this plug-in than do it myself in a text editor.

Sorry but what if you don't have any idea what php code looks like ? Or what if you don't want to look into any coding ?
And what if you get a Joomla! update that changes the head.php back to what it was (and you forget to change it again?)
Even if you put this code in your template you still have to put it there every time you change to looks of your site with another template.
Face it, in those cases this plugin saves you a lot of time.
