About Frontpage Auto Update
The work that this extension does.
1. This extension compare the articles which this extracted from all articles by start Pub. Date order that it is appointed in Front Page.
2. When 2 were different, This does the work for the first time.(3 - 9)
3. If articles is registered with fixfrontpage, This extension read the indication order of registered articles.
4. Only number appointed in maxnum extracts articles from all articles except excluded articles sequentially on a Pub. Date.
5. This merge fixfrontpage and the extracted articles.
6. This extension back up current Front Page.
7. This delete all articles from Front Page.
8. This extension register only the number of maxnum with frontpage.
9. If can't register, This try registering the backup(6.) to Front Page.

Yes, it does the job but you will not be able to reorder the top frontpage articles anymore.

I stumbled across this product whilst looking for something else but having the latest new items automatically displayed on my Front Page was something I have been tryingt to achieve for a LONG time.
Now no more messing around adding and removing front page items, I simply add a new News story and it appears on the front page removing the oldest story that had previously appeared.
As there was no real documentation it was a bit of trial and error but it only really took about 15 minutes to work it all out and it just works seemlessly.
One thing to watch out for, if you decide to include or exclude any sections, categories or articles, MAKE SURE you get the correct ID - I struggled for 5 minutes (not long I grant you) trying to work out why a particular article was always appearing on the front page when I thought I had excluded the section it was part of. I found out that I had been looking at the wrong column to get the section number.
Don't let the fact that the author's homepage is in Japanese (I think) as there are some simple English translations but in all reality this product does need a lot working with I am sure you can get it running within 15 minutes as I did.
If it had concise English instructions I would definately rate this as 5*. If the author would like any help writing English instructions I would be happy to assist.
