I had a few tweaks needed for the module and I emailed for support and Caleb not only responded but wrote me an updated version of the module. Very cool and I know use it for News and blog formats. Thanks!

There are many extensions to display latest news, but most have all kinds of "bells and whistles" that will include thumbnails etc. Occasionally I need one that will simply display the intro text in a module position. This one fit the bill perfectly - it has enough options, but not too many to complicate things. Definitely worth trying out!

Everything works ok except that when using multibyte characters the introtext isnot cut properly. You should use mb_substr instead of substr

Hey Ribonside,
Thanks for the review, I didn't even test for multi-byte content, but it is working with it now in this updated 1.5 version.

I spent almost two whole days at the office scouring through the 5,000+ extensions here trying to find a module with these exact features. Finally came across this one, and was even amazed by a quick response from the developer!

If you want to display the most recently added article with intro text, read more, author and date in a module, then save yourself some time and try this one out!
