I installed the tool and it works just as described on my site orgonite-brasil, however missing ability to configure formating font/class to use and the author separator configuration works only on external files, not on internally defined quotes.

I used this extension but quite a few times the site where it is hosted do not work. I only have 3 local quotes. I liked their quotes though. Another problem is, it is hosting up my web connection. Because probably that host is too slow or not working all the time, joomla waits for the timer and then the local quotes shoots up. Sorry, but had to deinstall it for the time being but I loved the quotes though don't get me wrong..
I have been looking for something like this and it sifts the bill nicely! The only issue I have is the inability to stylize the quotes themselves using the "emergency" quotes. But the biggest issue I had was the quote / author separator. My client's company name has hyphens in it so it created some issues. But I resolved it by adding n-dashes in the company name. Maybe there should be some warning or reference to this issue?

I wanted a quick and easy random quote module and this one was up and running in no time. The module allows you to put in 9 "emergency" quotes for when the text file isnt found which was actually all I needed. It does allow for a text file with as many as you need. The only upgrade I can think of is to ajax the quotes so they change on the page, but as it stands, this is a great little module. Thanks and hat tip to the author!

Whatever, this simple module is excellent and provides additional changing contents on my home page.
It is also useful for random announcements and other things - you can use your imagination.

Salam, Omar you have made great extension, my suggestion is to make filters for some specific words(Adult Rated). We should have choice that we put some words, and quotes having these words should be restricted and not be displayed.

But there's a problem with the 1.5.5 version.
I have updated this module from 1.5.4 to 1.5.5, but my site went blank! So I rollback this module to the 1.5.4 version.
I'm using Joomla 1.5.23 version.
Would you please to fix this?

fixed in v1.5.6
Very simple and to the point extension. Easy instructions and works well.
This extension does exactly what it says, it is easy to install, configure and use. I am using more than 10 instances of it on our website.
The only flaw I found is that if you use your own text file you must be very careful when entering the path to the text file and its name.
One misspelled error in the path or file name triggers error into the httpd error log and blows it up to several gigs in a matter of seconds!! This must be corrected. It took me 3-4 hours to figure out this was eating up my whole drive space.
