Description as per Random Module:-
Looking for a simple way to add something random to your site? Random Quotes - Testimonials - Image/banner links - Image/text links.
Random ... can be duplicated with different names (very simply) to enable you to have different quotes, images or testimonials in different sections or categories of your site.
This Module is deceptively simple and doesn't try to be an all "bells and whistles" or "singing and dancing" module.
Usage: just add {random} in to your article.
Random text is in text file called quotes in root/mambots/content or root/plugins/content if using the joomla 1.5.x version
Update: there is now a version for joomla 1.5.x
update: bugfix for joomla 1.5.x Please re-download

If you need a random quotes module there are plenty about.
What I was looking for was something to take a number of daily feeds (javascript) and insert them on a random basis into a specific location within the main content area of the homepage of my site - each time the page is refreshed different content is shown in this position. Randombot does this perfectly. All it takes is one text file containing the different lines of code plus one single insert code in the appropriate place on the page and voila! The page is fresh each time it's viewed.
Couldn't be simpler.
I'm now planning to use Randombot to randomize some affiliate offers in specific pages - it should work the same.
Sometimes it's the simplest solutions that work best!
Well done to the author for identifying the need for something this simple yet flexible.

I am not exactly sure why you would take andrew young's module, which i have on several sites, and which works flawlessly...Then rewrite it into a mambot, and remove instead of add functionality.
The original module works in articles, or modules. This one does not work on Module positions, only works if you publish to an article...Which is kind of worthless considering i think most of us use this module for QOTD, or reviews boxes on joomla sites.
My rating will go to 5 stars as soon as it publishes to modules as well as articles.

It works fine in articles but not on module positions. But I need it especially for that. It's also not working with german language at this point.
