User Images Plugin

Joomla authors can edit their articles text and insert images or some other types of media. But what if your site has a lot of articles and users? Then it's not unusual to find a huge number of image files and directories, what makes file management difficult for the less experienced. Besides, you probably just don't want your users to be able to embed, or even see, other users' files. UserImages is a very simple (for now) Joomla extension whose purpose is to fix that potential problem. If you install the component and plugin, your users will not further be able to see any other media files apart from their own ones.

Simple and efficient, though it's not compatible with the very popular JCE Editor...Would be nice to solve this & would definitely get 5 stars!

Excelent ideia, implementation has an issue on windows, assumptions on directory separator being forward slash, had to hackit to work.

Works great! Easy install and enabling. I agree that this should be a default plugin with joomla. I installed it, logged into my site as an author, clicked submit article, then clicked image, and my user had their own default directory!!!

Nothing to do with this plugin, but I need a way to limit image size(px)/weight(KB,MB) in the uploader now. I would also like a way to limit the storage someone can use and maybe a multi image uploader.

Anyways! Great product! Thanks so much for making!
Joomla! Core should adopt something like this. Many of us have lots of users, and some of them prefer to use their own images directory.
Very good. The reason why I want to write this review is just want to more people can notice this.

Must have!!

This is exactly what I needed for my site. The install was seemless on 1.5.9. The config is simply deciding where you want the users files to go. You can apparently also use a shared folder that will start your users off with some images.
I so long waited this plug-in.
Very necessary plug-in. Works as it is necessary. I always was surprised why developers of Joomla projected the system for one user. This plug-in eliminates calling oversight of developers Joomla.
