We've found it makes it easier for members of an association to submit news to their site. One plus is that ordinary registered members can submit content. Other extensions required members to be Author or above.
We found it very configurable for permissions and notifications. Its easy to use and understand.
We did find one bug with a conflict with a javascript library and Fabrik. The developers were very quick and helpful to respond. They gently pointed out my errors in MySQL knowledge . They tested and removed the offending code and have already added this fix to the latest version. So for what was a very obscure bug they are very good at replying and improving.
Thanks for the positive review, but please don't mark our extensions down for not having features you want that we never advertised it having.
It is impossible for us to perfectly meet everyone's expectations, and this is not the place to ask us for new features by voting us down. It has the opposite effect and makes us not want to implement those features for you.
Making a front end editor for K2 is almost impossible for us because K2 offers many different options and can be customized to have as many fields and options as you like. What you are asking us to do would literally double or triple the size of Ninja Content to make it operate properly with K2 functionality, in fact it would take us so much work to do so that we would practically be rebuilding K2 inside Ninja Content.
But then when another customer wants flexi content or zoo, do we then have to completely build both of those components into ninja content as well?
What you should be doing, is marking down K2 for not having good front-end functionality instead of marking s down for not being K2, Zoo and FlexiContent all in one component.
I had a problem after I'd installed it and their support Forum was excellent. The team got back to me quickly suggesting I update to a later version of joomla and then it all worked brilliantly. It's obvious from the Forum that they actively monitor and help their clients.
Another point to add was the great support I got from Richie and Co. I ran into one minor snag and it was resolved immediately. That was huge; I did not expect to get that great of support, but I did.
Thanks for a great extension NinjaForge.
I'm probably not using it anywhere near to capacity, but am restricting a particular J! usergroup to only be able to add content to a certain section/category, as well as allowing the site admin to do all the usual article administration from the front-end!
No more concerns about back-end access... this does the job perfectly.
Thanks again Ninjas!
This is a mod that has been long overdue. The Ninjas have surpassed themselves with this one. Do you have people using your joomla site whom you wish to have complete control of articles, or just their own articles or points in between, and you don't want them going into the back end where they can accidentally do untold damage? Your prayers are answered. I don't know about anyone else, but I have had to devise all sorts of laborious work arounds to half enable what this mod can do on the front end.
In short it gives absolute back end control of articles on the front end. It works perfectly on first install with no issues at all. e.g. Those irritating moments when a client creates an article and forgets to allocate a category, and "loses" their article are no more, same goes for deleting an article, easy peasy - simple pimple, oh the joy! Just the time saved supporting clients who don't have access to the back end justifies shelling out for this one. Add to it all the other great extensions available from ninja for the price of membership, makes it a real no-brainer.
One can even use it as a training tool for clients in how basic joomla works, without initially giving them back end access.
I have tested it to the extreme, it works seamlessly with joom!fish which is absolutely fantastic, as I have to work often in three languages as standard, front end translations no-problem at all.
I have enjoyed using an 'admin' template just for this feature (using the menu item > template) so the client really feels like they are in the back end rather than editing on the page, which if you have a narrow main content area is recommended.
I really can't praise this highly enough, and quite frankly I really don't understand why this is not a standard joomla feature.
It may be in beta, but even as a beta 5+ stars, and deepest thanks to Ninja for making one of the most useful contributions to client side usability I have found since I started working with Joomla. Go get it, you will not regret it.
One happy bunny. =8¬)
If you've used Joomla for any length of time, you'll know what a pain it is to provide an easy to use and customizable article submission form. This does it perfectly. However, the best part of this extension is the ability to FULLY MANAGE YOUR ARTICLES FROM THE FRONT-END!
No more logging into the admin area to delete, reorder, or archive your articles. This extension gives you the same functionality from the site front-end. And, to make it even better, it looks and acts the same as in the back-end. No learning curve!
You will have this extension up and running in minutes, and you (or your clients) will love it! Add a very powerful and professional touch to all of your sites. Get this today!!!!
This gives a much more streamlined control on the FRONT END for my clients to edit their content. It's similar to the Joomla backend article manager, yet it's simplified and added to the front end, so it's substantially less confusing and much easier to train clients on.
Clients can easily add/edit/delete/publish/unpublish articles/set front page articles, etc... using the standard Joomla layout we are all accustomed to.
Works like a charm, and the Ninja's support is top notch with a minor question answered the same day.
These guys have a TON of awesome extensions as well, all included with the single purchase price- really one of the best deals for quality Joomla extensions.
Highly recommend.
