NoticeBoard ComponentModule

A simple component and module to create and display notices. Notices can be created through noticeboard component. These notices can be displayed through noticeboard module.

- Very easy to use
- No need to create articles for notices/announcements.
- Version 1.1 replaces simple text box for announcements with website's current editor. If you use editors like JCE, you can format and add links in your notices.
- NoticeBoard Component can be used at both front and back end.
- You can publish/unpublish notice.
- Noticeboard module provides many settings to change the appearance and functionality such as text direction, width, height, background color, border style, random display etc.

Feedbacks and suggestions are welcome.

Very nice! One little problem: I prefer to scroll up, but when I do only one of my notices is displayed. When I set the scroll direction = down, all notices display - a minor bug that I'm confident you'll fix.

Great add-on!

This module is very good looking and classy!!! However, it only shows the last notice i post. I have set the module settings to show up to even 10 posts but no matter what, it still displays the last notice I write.

A little frustrated but trying to fix it!!!

Other than that, its awesome...just removed 1 star due to frustration :(

Some suggestions for developer's reference:

(1)Add category feature in component for different kind of notice purpose, such as News,Birthday,Quote,Wordlist, etc. In doing so, multiple module instances can be used to display the related categorized notice accordingly.

(2)Make some improvement to the Module with more custom properties.

anyway, this is a great extension and it really works smoothly.

Works great on sites I have created although I am having issues with IE8 browser. Box shows up but is showing blank. No notices are viewable. Cross tested on Mozilla, Chrome and Safari with no issues.
Peplexed but otherwise like the component

A very nice and lightweight component/module combination, works like a charm. Especially nice is the fact that you can work independently of any other content on your site, it is a contained system. Very well executed. I'll give it the final star once a feature of randomization is implemented, so far it only displays the messages in the same order.

The scroller is really excellent. It is easy to fix and easy to key in data. Both images and link can be used. Thanks for it.
I hope, we can choose the scroller to come from bottom to top, as it is something good to grow from bottom to top. I hope the changes can be made.
Thanks again for the notice board

This one works well but there a couple things I wish it had. It would be very useful to have an expiry on my announcements so that noticeboard automatically stops displaying them. Also, I'd like to reverse the direction of scroll. Scrolling down means you lose the bottom of the announcement first, which is annoying if you are still reading it.

The concept is awesome. I have tested it against all the browsers. Titles for notices don't bold in Safari or Chrome. Hence, I give it three stars.

This is just what I was looking for to post text with special offers which was not linked to a specific article. It works a charm.
You can change the title, insert text (just check the limit on the module or you will have a problem) and it looks great on the site.
A simple note, just add the component download before you add the module download and it couldn't be easier from there.

For a new com/mod the developer has done a great job. The com & mod are easy to install and understand.

Although I agree with some of the comments concerning the lack of features I suspect that most are just a matter of time.

Well Done.

The ability to determine a scroll delay or wait time before scrolling to the next notice would be nice.

These features are now available in Noticeboard module Version 1.1

This is great if you need to display news or whatever on you site quickly.
Lots of options to change the look to suit your needs.
A rounded corner option would probably be nice to blend in with some templates but all said and done thanks for this addition to Joomla.

Very nice addon to my site that allows brief snippets of news to be displayed in a selection of different frames or no frame. Simple easy to use and with the option to set width & height making it easy to place in any module position.
A big thumbs up from me.

Nice Work Thank You!

I like this extension! Since this extension has only recently been released, I can see why it doesn't have very many features yet. The scrolling effect is nice. The module does offer some customization capabilities regarding window size, background color, font size, borders and spacing.

I would love to see the ability to insert links directly into the NoticeBoard announcements. And, if site Publishers could somehow add announcements from the front end, this extension would be fantastic.

Thank you to the developer! Looking forward to seeing some additional features. Cheers!
