Like all others, after a long hour struggling with the setup (you get the informations on the forum site (developers website)) this is a really excellent extension. I hope development is going further (automatic rezising for pictures for example). Very good!
Man, I would love to give this a top rating. The idea is great and MMS Blog even works sometimes.

However, the documentation is bad, as it skips over key points that are essential to get the thing running. There is no FAQ. There are unanswered messages on the Forum that go back 5 months. I have lots of Joomla experience, this add-on is not as easy as it seems. It's pretty frustrating.

You may be one of the lucky few that get MMS Blog running right out of the box. If so, I envy you.
It wasn't easy to get configured, but this thing is awesome once it's working.

I had messed around with wordpress to try to get some mobile blogging going but I didn't like it or any of the other blog extension available. This, while not perfect is much easier and better than what I tried before. Not sure if this extension is still being maintained by the developer, but I hope someone continues if it's not. Does need some customization tools, and a user/install manual, but, over all it's very cool.

Installed it on my site, set the settings and it worked without one problem. Few little items can be changed or approved but for the rest, GREAT STUFF!
Everything loaded and installed ok - with lack of up to date configuration guide I don't know whether there is a problem with software or configuration. Very frustrating!!

Need detailed config guide for Joomla 1.5 and MMS Blog 2.3

I'm not stupid - I have managed to master other extensions - have Agora forum up and running - but this component (MMS Blog) nearly locked my site after I had tried different config settings. I had to un-install it to get site back to normal.

My advice is, don't try it until there are some clear instructions.

Beeing a webmaster for our scouting group I saw this 10 days before our summercamp, and in just 10 minuts it was enabled and it took about 20 minuts to figure out the setup and now we have 2 units on summercamp and blogging via mobile phone, that mms og e-mail the website.

Could it be possible to add a "all users" and mayby the first line in the text could be a "publishing" password that will be deleted from the published content but is needed to publish.
First of all, this is a fantastic little component.

Runs straight out of the box, and works like it should. It's quite fun to send random emails from your cellphone, and check later to see it's sitting there on the website for the world to see.

However, although it does this very well, this is all it does.

As per the requests on the support forum, the big demand now is that this integrates a little closer with Joomla, in that once MMS Blog receives content, it's converted into Joomla content, therefore making it compatible with all things Joomla - including comments for blog entries and editing from front-end login, among other things.

Once this is implemented this will become an indispensable component for Joomla. As it stands, it's a robust piece of software.

I installed this and got it running without a hitch! It is an excellent way to provide input to your blog while you are on the road.

I found this mod to be brilliant, i noticed that a few of you complained about the time it takes when the page loads and checks the mail server, i instead of using mail.sitename.com just used localhost for that section with eh accounts uname and pass, and the time it takes to ping the inbox and retrieve the mail is within seconds if not less.

Give that a try and see what happens

As ContentByMail no longer in the extensions list. MMSBlog is the only way of content update by mail for joomla.

Even MMS Blog have her advantage in photo, but her main weakness is it can only update to her own group, but ContentByMail can send the content to different Section or Calatog.

If someone can combine both into one. It will be totally perfect.

Easy to install and a real enhancement to a site. Excellent for community building for club and group websites.

I did have problems with the installation files, but the writer and other users of the extension quickly responded to my problem with first class support.

I have been looking high and low for something like this and found it by accident. Now it's installed and works fine. I'm now going through the code to see if i can hack it to be able to display on the front page. Hope that there will be updates to this in the future.

Works well, pretty bugfree. Only feature missing is module posting the pics so i have the moblog on da frontpage....

Yes it is useful, but it does work in its own little world.

Using the frontend as the update means that the first user to trigger the reading of the mail server seems to take longer to refresh. Also sometimes error messages are produced in the front end if the "timing" of the menu item click is not in synch with "something". Sometimes the message is loaded twice if the MMS Menu item is clicked twice in a short space of time. So a backend solution to the loading of messages would be better.

The linking of sending email addresses to users email address would be a big improvemement.

However, it works and for a additional feature on a site it is useful. Thanks.

This component is great. Easy to install and works nicely. I did have a little trouble understanding how it worked at first though.

New 'content items' / emails, will not be checked until you visit the component page on the frontend.

If you just go to the backend and try to list content without visiting the frontend page first, you may end up losing your mind for a few days thinking that your imap settings are incorrect.

Suggestion: Allow authors to be related to Joomla users and content items to be published to core Joomla categories if the author is a core Joomla user.

Setup and usage of this component was extremely easy... I just wish that the cameras on the mobile phones were a bit better!

Great for community building :)

A nice and simple MMS blog. Use your mobilephone or any e-mail client to send messages, pictures and movies by e-mail to your MMS blog.
