Just what I was looking for! With this plugin you can make your web's frontpage look like a digital newspaper! Simple to configure, you can select thumbnail size, quality and other options, and there you go. 1 minute to make it works :)
You can use the "frontpage char num" option to cut frontpage articles to the desired number of character. You will see full text clicking on article image (or article title if you had this option enabled in articles' preferences).
Thank you very much in advance. Regards!

I really like the thumbnails on the category blog. I would like to be able to restrict it to only category blogs but cannot see a way to do that without explicitly including all the categories.
I would also like to find a way to stop it changing the images in the articles themselves.

I was looking for something like this.
Easy configuration and powerfull results.
One of the best extensions for articles that I've ever used.
Awesome.

Its works good to a certain limit extent, I have the tweet this plugin installed with this plugin and it totally disables it, and plus the grey box around the images is really poor design, and if your using a image class then it just shows the html and it dosen't resize the image.
Owner's reply
Thanks!
the latest version have some broken code so It dose not resize images. Please use the older version. I will do modify in July!

I have been trying for ages to get thumbnails in category blog view, and at last a plugin which did it for me. Installed with no hassle, haven't noticed any conflicts with anything else on my site. Thanks for a great job!

This is a good plugin, but note that your hosting service will need to have GD installed (see Help->System Info->PHP Information and look for a GD heading). If you don't have this then you'll get a blank page.

The idea behind this is so very practical : create thumbnails next to article intros that follow size constraints...like any article driven site (take, for example the New York Times). That way a designer can create a layout and the unknowing client doesn't mess up the look!
This extension is great because it provides a link to the full article (either the text or the image) and I am sure that it's CSS can be easily manipulated.
The only problem (and it's been mentioned before in these reviews) is precisely what should be the main interest of this extension: the thumbnail images. Yes, the thumbnail creation is automatic but I don't want a mini version of my original image...because then my thumbnails are not uniform. And borders and background colors to "imply" that they are all the same size doesn't work for me. Note to the developer: I do not mind if my images are cropped in order to make nice thumbnails. Look at the Ignite Image Gallery and how it makes thumbnails...if you can figure that out, this extension will be an amazing / integral part of joomla.

I simply loved this plugin.
It was a breeze installing it, and configuring it.

It is just awesome. When I combined this extension with JCE Editor and Mavik Thumbnails Plugin, I got all I want to submit a new content to my site. Thank you...
This is awesome plugin. In previous versions it had some drawbacks, but now it rocks. You can make auto intro texts at your defined number of chars, make auto thumbnails at defined resolutions in frontpage. Just what I was looking for some time. Keep up the good work!

It's an OK plugin. But I found that it doesn't play nice to things like Simple Image Gallery and other embedded photos in the article. I wish it did because the idea is great.

This plugin seems to be working allright at first BUT... it appears to have one crucial flaw:
-When there are more images inside a content item they're all resized to the earlier specified size (selected in plugin manager) not just the first image which is displayed as thumbnail. This is of course a big drawback for many sites. As it means there is no option of having images in various sizes. It also means that images in other content item plugins are also resized!
Another drawback is that you can't resize the thumbnails on percentage.
Otherwise this is the plugin I have been waiting for, in fact, I think most of the joomla community have been waiting for something like this. The idea of this plugin is so simple and brilliant, it's a plugin the Joomla development team for some reason never thought of including!
This plugin can transform many joomla sites from boring scruffy looking to dynamic, alive and professional. So please please revise the script so that it won't cough out all images inside a content item in the size of the first image! Then I will definetely be using this script again!

This is a great addition to Joomla. It adds some features that I believe should be included in the CMS. I don't like the way Joomla handles images but this plugin takes it a step in the right direction.
However it needs a little more tweaking. It seems to me there should be 3 versions of the uploaded image created. A preview for blog pages, a sized image for the story page and a large version that pops up when a user clicks on the image on the story page.
Either way, well done! I'm excited to see what else you'll be adding in the future. Thanks for your work!

This plugin can generate thumbnail and make the thumbnail image as a link to Fulltext page, this is good.
But it will constraints the image size in fulltext page to a solid dimension for all images which may have different original sizes, this is very bad.
I suggest to offer pop-up enlargement effects by Lightbox or Highslide scripts for images on fulltext page.
