Installed the plugin without any issues.
Haven't read the documentation because everything was very obvious.
Specially liked the fact that you can customize every gallery according to your needs simply by changing the code inside the article.

I tried the plugin and it works exactly as promised. And yes, it's very simple and easy to use. The only problem was that it didn't work directly in Joomla 1.5 html module, so I had to put it in an article and then find another module to show that article in a module where I wanted the slideshow to appear. This however was detailed in the FAQ section of this plugin. Could be perfect if it worked directly in the modules. Thank you!

Thank you for your review. About your suggestion: Please understand, that this extension is a content PLUGIN. It is by design working within the Joomla main content (i.e. an article). A fish does not need to get improved because of it's unability to fly ;)
To show a slideshow on a module position, please use an extension developed as a MODULE (plugins are marked with a small icon showing a "P", modules with an "M" in this directory). Doing so will save you a lot of time and help you to keep the structure of your site's backend clean because you do not need two extensions (the plugin and the module to display it) but just the module itself.
I installed simple slide show in Joomla 1.73 with no issues. Configuration was simple and straightforward. I did not read the documentation as to where to place the images to be displayed, but then I got an informative error message which was quite helpful. It is nice to have an extension which just works!
I have run this plugin in J1.5 and 1.6, and they both work well. It is very easy to configure in the plugin's Properties window. This plugin works on image folders of any size from 100 images to 2000 (although the more images in the folder, the longer it takes for the page to load).
Super simple and easy addition resizes and displays photos nicely. Controls work and good documentation. Three Cheers!!!
Amazing documentation and debug features. Installed and implemented, however I had a problem matching the mapping and the directory. But, message on the article page told me exactly what the problem was. I missed that I had to have a final directory /simpleslideshow/ for the images. Added the directory and reloaded the images but got the same problem. Figured out that I had to re-save the article to regenerate the code. I'm a newbie, so I'm learning. In case this might help someone, I made a 2 pixel border by setting the plugin size 4 pixels bigger than my images and made the color different than my backgruond. Very happy. Nice image fades.
Easy and quick to install. Perhaps because I used the translated from German instructions it was a little confusing at first, but when I remembered not to use any spaces in the code when adding text and links, everything went smooth.
