Photoblog Gallery Component Component

The "Gallery" component is a minimalistic and completely file-based gallery for Joomla 2.5 and Joomla 3. File-based means that there is no need for a database and you could manage all your photos in just one place: the file system. When you are creating a gallery, just upload your photos to the gallery folder and the whole gallery is automatically created.

The "Gallery" is the indirect successor of the Photoblog component, which is still available for Joomla 1.5.

The Photoblog component is a gallery software written for Joomla! 1.5. The component was originally designed as Photoblog. Meanwhile it includes also some elements of a full gallery component.

A demo of the Photoblog component is available at http://www.erdikon.de/fotos and the project page at https://webguerilla.net/projects/photoblog .

not sure if this is still supported as last comments / update is pretty old now (2 years old).
I liked the demo but couldn't get it to work and there is no documentation out there to help me...
too bad, it seemed to work beautifully on the demo page!

Hi guije,

Thank you for your interest in the Photoblog extension. Indeed there was no development for a long time and I had to shutdown the documentation wiki because of vandalism.

If you are still interested in such a component, maybe you will have a look at my new Gallery component for Joomla 2.5. The new component is developed from scratch and a lot easier to use then the Photoblog. It is also completely file-based and thus fast to setup. However, the design is nearly the same, so maybe you would like it.

Best regards,
Marco

It feature all the options I need so far. But I find at the end, that I need one more important feature: blog order. It has the option to order the categories, but no the blogs.

Hello aolba, thanks for your review. I have posted a fix for this issue in my forum. The blog view feature was originally planned for the next release... regards, marco

love the demo and can't wait to get it working. i installed like the directions say but i think something is missing. it says put in absolute and relative path but it doesn't appear in the frontend.

needs a little more detailed instructions and this should be a great plugin. backend works fine and it great with lots of features.

Hey, thanks for your comment...
You can set the absolute path at the configuartion view in the backend.

But maybe it's better to wait to the next version, which I like to publish in 5-7 days... In the new version (alpha 2) an advanced photo managment system would be integrated...

After I launched the new version, I start to write a documentation...
