I purchased this product in December, installed it on my test server and uploaded several images. Unfortunately the program/function for resizing the images didn't work. I submitted a support request, heard nothing back. Three weeks later I submitted a follow up, a reply to the original support ticket, also no response. It looks like it might be a useful self-contained product, but with the resizing problem and no support and money spent, there is not much more I can say.
I've used it for a long time... components are nice for this because there is an area you can tell clients to go put a picture into...
..but it really is due for an upgrade. Mootools 1.2, maybe better caching, auto-resizing of uploaded images. I'm on the quest for a upgrade or replacement for this tool.

I really love this slideshow because of few reasons:
It's easy to use , it's working stable, it's have advanced images uploading options and finally when I was have small problem with files permissions on server support help me to sort it out in really short time.
So it's do exactly what was described in product details. Great slideshow that deserve to be commercial!

Due to the excellent ratings on this website I got great expectations.
Mostly because it has the functionality of automatically resizing images I bought this extension, but does not have this feature! Only the thumbnails are resized, but it is done with every request of a page. So the thumbnails are not stored on the server and it can cause high server overload when more people are visiting the website at the same time.
Also in the backend were no buttons available from the admin-menu to get to the category manager and other parts.
It's a pitty I spent more then 20 euros on this extension I can only use at just ONE website. Totally NOT worth any money!

They have really worked on this extension to iron out any issues - it installed perfectly, the documentation was clear, and it worked straightaway (unlike many other extensions where you can grow old trying to tweak them to work properly...)- there's a feeling of real quality about the extension and the support offered
Very good extension - easy to install and to configure. Client support is also good and fast.

I needed a compact slideshow that will changes images automatically, enlarge images when selected, display hidden thumbnails and Joomfish compatible.
Everything was there except the Joomfish component. I asked Em Component for support, they answered me quickly, and installed their beta plugin for me, with no charge. Great service! The Joomfish plugin works perfectly.

This extension does exactly what it's supposed to. The interface in the backend is simple yet configurable, and the slideshow just works.
Support is great to. We've emailed them several times about styling and licensing issues and they have been prompt, courteous, and helpful every time.

I tried many other slide show plug-ins before I decided to pay for EM Slide Show, A decision based on these reviews. I'm glad I did, it works better than any I've seen, and is very easy to use.
Customer support has been awesome. I had a very obscure issue specifically with IE6 (no problems with FF3, FF2, Opera, Chrome, Safari, IE5.5, & IE7). They responded and solved the problem quickly, which turned out to be a missing tag in an article, NOT an issue with their product.

I have created about 25 Joomla sites and tried just about every slideshow out there. This is by far the best and worth every penny.
I am a pretty advanced software developer but ran into an issue with the dynamic creation of the thumbnails that I was not able to resolve. The support group jumped onto my site and resolved the issue for me in no time.

I admit, I normally look for open source extensions first, but after not finding any that were simple to use and met my needs, I purchased this one. I'm quickly changing my mind about commercial extensions. It is well worth the money - very simple, great documentation (Note to extension developers: PDF downloads are soooooo helpful) and I had it working in mere minutes.
I can't comment on help from the developer because the documentation was so excellent, that I didn't need it! Great job and awesome extension that I will use over and over (I really appreciate the multi-site license!). Thanks again and keep up the good work.

I have searched high and low for a good solution for a slideshow for client websites. This was the answer! I don't have to teach a client how to create a text file, or where to upload images outside of Joomla, or look for a component that is easy to set up. Clients love it because they find it easy to understand, and they aren't overwhelmed by the steps required to edit the slideshow. You have to pay for this combination component/mambot/module, but it is well worth it. AND you can embed it in a content item! Good investment!
This is a really good product, i would definitely encourage people to use it. it was easy to set up and more importantly it is easy for the users of the CMS to add images to a gallery.
I was very impressed with the service i got when i needed a little helping hand.

Excellent work, this component does exactly what they say it does and does it very good. I had no trouble installing it and setting it up, their guide has all the details one would ever need. I was using it in under 30 minutes after downloading it.

This extension does exactly what it says, and does it well. The installation and configuration is simple, and embedding it into your website is easy. My only request is that the display control should change its orientation when the picture it displays changes orientation.
This product is simply outstanding and must be on your short list if you wish to add a slide show to your Joomla site. The product is elegant and integrates superbly into the Joomla backend. Equally as important, the support team is responsive and will work overtime with you to get your installation up and running. I have absolutely no reservation in giving this product my highest rating A++++++!
