The PHP Album Manager has very strict system requirements but is not needed to add new pics to you gallery (this is just another option if you have these extensions on your server). You can also install the Windows (or Mac) Album Manager found here: http://www.slooz.com/trinkets.php
After you have downloaded the Album Manager login to your server via FTP and change directory to [JoomlaRoot]/components/com_expose and copy down the expose folder to your desktop or anywhere you know where to access it at. Lastly, open your Newly installed Album Manager and it will ask you where you expose folder is, just point it to that folder and you can edit away.
After you are done when you close the album manager it will ask you if you would like to save your configurations, Click "YES" and then re-upload the folder and you are all set. Create a Joomla Menu pointing to that component and it will look awesome!

Put simply there are server adjustment issues mentioned in passing in the manual but woefully neglected in any explanation-in fact there is virtually none. In short, images do not upload using MAMP and localhost. I have tried chmod, file permissions in OSx, moving directories, editting php.ini, editing check_system.php. Nothing works. After a whole day trying to get it to work I tried to post on the GTEK forum but the confirmation email never arrived so I can't even ask for help. I'm out of here GTEK. Goodbye.

I have been looking and comparing literally ALL gallery extentions for Joomla! And this is for me THE best for small-medium sized galleries.

Easy install and not very difficult to customize (though it has limitations)
Allow users to download pics (Not all flash galleries allow that).
Unfortunately, for big sized galleries I found this two problems:
The LOADER doesnt show up all the time when you load the gallery, leaving your site with about 3-6 seconds with NOTHING,,, causing minor usability problems...
Does not allow you to tag or index your pictures. Does not allow search.

After going through a long strip of image showcasing apps, I've decided to use this one. It is way too easy to use and has a very appealing effect while displaying the images.

Really good component for joomla, amazing graphics, lot's of custom settings and can hold albums and videos in one place. Really it was a relieve to find suck a great job and free.
The only suggestion that I can make is the fact that exposé doesn't generate embed code and doesn't allow direct linking to a video.

Impressive specs. Though should have been marked as mixed or commercial instead of non-commercial.

We do not make expose. We make the bridge so you can use expose in Joomla. Please only review our bridge and not the license agreement set the expose developer.
I wanted to do just 2 simple thing. Remove Help Button "?" in the flash or edit it and change the loading. I asked and its been long and no help since.
I get some errors in localhost and it is simple boring. Since no help I am completely struck with this and I am finding some other good thing to switch for...

Because this is a bridge for Expose from http://slooz.com/trinkets.php You can not remove the Help icon because of the authors copyright. This is why you were not able to easily remove it.
Please rate this on use or features instead of not receiving help for a free piece of software.
I have installed a great many galleries. A great many websites including a great many Joomla sites.
This gallery, plugin and module all work together perfectly and I mean to tell you a child could set it all up and figure out how to work it without instructions.
And they provide instructions!

The scrolling thumbnails on the top of the front page is expose, and the galleries attached to it if you click it are expose.

This could be a great tool for my joomla site but I have just spent 3 months trying to get it to work I am using joomla 1.5 but it would not work unless I 1.0 plug in turned on. The upload would not work it keep stalling out. The support on Expose web site was very poor. No one could help me fix my problems. If they had better support and a better FAQ page I may have stuck with it longer
