ChangeLog Version 1.0.1:
Fixed the trouble for several sever that can't display this album (by imanickam / manickam_mig)
Nice and easy component, exactly what i need. But there's some problems, in parameters, sort asc or dec by date or name not function, and another one is, we have to chmod 777 the album_sources folder to be able to upload the picture, but after upload, we have to chmod back to 755, unless the component won't working. This is what happened to me. Any suggestion for the parameter sort to work??
Took me less than a minute to download install on my website and find out that I can not create albums, or upload more than one photo at a time no need to look any further as this is an archaic component
Firstly, this is a great component, as it makes it sooo simple to add images to a gallery. The problem is that it severely restricts you on the number of photos you can use.
The reason for this is that the module, from what i can see does not read sub-directories under the photo folder. So there is no way to organize your photos at all. this creates a situation where you end up with hundereds of images on the gallery over time, which severely slows your page loads.
The component needs to allow you to use directories in the photo folder for organization.
for instance;
components/com_hpalbum/album_sources
is where the module wants you to put your photos, however, you should be able to use;
components/com_hpalbum/album_sources/2009
components/com_hpalbum/album_sources/2009/1-2009
components/com_hpalbum/album_sources/2009/2-2009
etc, and have the module display those folders first if there are any. Then when a user enters a folder from the component page, he sees any images in that folder.
As it stands right now, this is a VERY simple to use gallery with absolutely no way to organize anything.
Make this change developer and ill change rating to 5 stars.

Very easy to install and no tricky setup .
Hope to add captions and change the date under the thumbnails

Hi, I have tried the component and I like the practical approach: Install, start uploading images and they will show up in the gallery under the menu item of the component. I wish more extensions were so straightforward!
