AtomiconGallery

The gallery is developed with the ease of use and designers in mind.
Easy to implement and use for both you and/or your clients.
The whole gallery setup is so transparent you can easily customize the gallery without being a Joomla! guru.
It has a thumbnail generator/images resizer, you can add descriptions to your images.
It also makes use of the fabulous slimbox. But that can also be easily overridden with your own lightbox implementation.

Changelog:

* Fixed the 'exotic filenames' bug (e.g. names like 'ab(20).jpg' work from now on.
* Added the swedish language (huge thanks to: Ola Heed, from www.gadgit.se)
* Fixed a few common CSS problems with templates.
allow me just to make some additions:
- a RTL support would be great.
- RTL foldernames wont allow access to it & upload photos to)
- possibility to rename folders after creating them.
thats all i can think of for the moment.
thx again for the developper.
AtomiconGallery is a component that fits this bill. For the client it makes logical sense. Folders contain folders and files. An uncomplicated upload system makes a potentially arduous task light weight. The simple and direct interface is clear about what the controls do.
The front-end is very customisable using template overrides. May seem obvious but not everybody does this well, or at all.
The one downside is that to use a javascript library other than MooTools-based SlimBox you'll need to do a bit of coding. On sites where I had killed mootools in favor of jQuery I had some minor problems. Changes to the view file fixed this.
1. How do I align the Folder Description to be to the right of the photo as opposed to below it (similar to your demo site)?
2. Where do I add photo captions?
Thanks!
A question though: what's the idea behind using "htmlspecialchars" for the descriptions? For example, if the admin would like a part of the description to serve as a link, shouldn't he be able to? My descriptions contains names of the models and photographers involved. Therefore I removed the htmlspecialchars-function (on line 37 in default_folders.php), it works fine.
An improvement: If a folder is made to serve as a category, containing other folders, that folder should not demand the existance of the real-size image. Only the thumbnail should be required. Currently, if you click on one folder containing others, the link for the real-sized image will be shown along with the containing folders, not very pretty.
Then, of course, it would be nice if the component was database-based, instead of using text-files, thus allowing features as sorting and renaming.
All-in-all, this component is excellent, thanx!
When you have multiple folders or images displayed they fail to wrap properly and display in one line. this means that they dissapear once they reach the end of the div they sit in.
tried this on a couple of computers and fails both on the site i'm working on and on the demo page
boo
Have you come up with a way to include the gallery in an article yet? I'd love to be able to feature it on the front page of a website.
Alas it's a IE/CSS3 problem. Though with a few tweaks you can style it anyway you want it.
But for now it's waiting for microsoft to implement CSS3
Thank you for give us this valuable tool.
I have only a problem-answer. I have a photo gallery
name portfolio and i have a categories for example
3d,artworks etc... menu links
How can i see only one category when hit the appropriate link ?
The problem until now is in one link i see all categories...
Sorry for my bad english
I hope I was understandable...
Thank you
You're very kind.
1) Go to your menu item.
2) On the right side go to "Component parameters"
3) Enter by the "Folder" parameter "artworks"
(repeat those steps for every single gallery/folder)
