I am using this component for a couple of months now. I must say that I am thrilled! It worked out of the box, verry intuitive and easy to use. No errors for now. Everything just works! Bravo for Jforms team!

I've tried / used several other forms components and this is by far the easiest to use; I can quickly create and publish fully functional, attractive forms.
The version I'm using is a release candidate but I've had no problems with stability or bugs. I especially like the ability to embed the form directly in a Joomla article.
My wish list for the developer would include having the ability to back-up/import/export forms as well as having the ability to create an order form with fields that would multiple quantities and price, then total the results. Maybe something for the future (?) - but in the meantime, I'm sticking with JForms... it works great for me!

Exactly what I needed. I didnt find any bugs and it does exactly whta it should do. The drag and drop creation is brilliant programming. Its so nice and simple. Create a form. Add it. Too easy.

JForms is exactly what I needed! It's simple, elegant, and the options to export in excel and other types is very useful!!
My users are thrilled with it! Thanks to the developper!!

I would mark this as a good extension but there are several bugs. I tried to contact and didn't get any reply. It was only a small question.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I use Joomla a lot because I can teach my clients how to add things to their web pages for themselves, even if they aren't "computer people." The intuitive drag-and-drop method of creating forms means that I can share this with my clients who want to be able to create their own mail-in forms on their web sites. This is an impressive piece of work. Thank you!

Unable to create forms. Jforms is still in beta. I installed the RC6 and discovered that the form editor has no links to the functions, just pretty icons that do nothing. I uninstalled it and tried RC5 and the same problem. What a waste of time.
I am running the typical LAMP stack with a hardened server, so nothing unusual on my server to create conflict. Tried to create forms with IE and FF. I also noticed that the forum posts with this issues have been unanswered.

Wasn't sure what to expect after reading some of these comments, but am happy to report, this extension is working great for me. Very easy to use and configure. The placement of items in the script was a little clunky at first but once you get used to it, is very easy to get the hang of.
Thanks Mostapha, your work is A++++++++++

Highly recommend this component after trying several others.
Only suggestion would be a way to change the date formatting. American users like to have the Month, Day and Year format.

Yes, is true that at the end I manage to make the form work, but after a long session of adjustments. the main problem: lack of good documentation. JForm could be full of bugs, but at least you could try to fix them, but without a good documentation, is hard. As I say. Yes it work, but at the end I have to uninstall it because I encounter one more problem, validation is a big mess. Native validation doesn't work for me, regular expression works, but no more than one at the time (email and numeric). I would not recommend this one.

worked excellently and very simple to use.. love it!!
NOTE: if you'd like to embed a form into an article, you need to use the plugin too. i browsed through the forums to figure this bit out:
download & enable both the component + plugin. make your form(s).
then insert this code into your article: {jform=1} - the number changes according to how many forms you have.
for example, if you have more than one form and wanted to embed the second one you would edit it to say {jform=2}.
hope this helps anyone who gets stuck!

Using Joomla you soon get into digging in the code of extensions and css files. If you don't mind to get your hands dirty and only need the basic communication inside Joomla out your way, then this extension will be a good choice. There might be better commercial extensions but I recommend this extension to any small time WebDev-nerd. Thank You for this, Mostafa. Since You GPLed Your work anybody can pick it up and polish it to his/her needs and the needed infos can be found in the forum on his website.

Probably the best free extension, but if you look at the support forum, most of the subjects have NO answer since months...
I encountered identical problems with HTML fields and Captcha and I will consider commercial products with support.
Except for basic forms, seems to be a waste of time for everybody (Mostafa and users)

Hello.
I've downloaded this, 'cause I made a website for a business, and it's on Danish. When you don't fill in a field, it says it on english. How do i chance that ?
Btw. it's a excellent form ! It's easy to figure out , and easy to use (;

Looked good on install - but I've wasted too many hours on this.
Main problem is losing the ability to edit a created form - plenty of others with this issue in the support forum.
Please clean it up - it is really easy to use to create a form - but it's just not robust enough.

This extension is really easy to use : just drag and drop and it's done !
I used CKForm before (which do a good job) and this one do the same in a much more easier way.
Thanks to the developper !
PS : email is working well.

About the e-mail problem. Did you tick the "User e-mail?" box in the text box field and activated the mail in the Form Tab "active plugins"? This helped me.
bymlacunza on August 18, 2009
I just installed it and I can start to desing the form, I only need to go to your home site to see how use it inside a form (with your plugin!) and thats all! excellent application!

What seemed like a good extension has turned out to be a major disappointment. Email does not work and support does nothing to address the problem. After posting the problem and waiting several days, there was no admin support but I received numerous emails from others in the forum who were seeking help with the same problem to no avail. Until the developer gets on the ball and addresses the email function problem, don't waste your time.
Owner's reply
I apologize for not being very active in responding on the forum, Real-life stuff.
I have noticed that this issue has been reported alot, It is mainly a usability issue, Users usually miss the activation of the mailer plugin for the forms.
See the following link for trouble shooting the mail on JForms
