MyMuse
It's hard enough to find something more than a generic paid-download tool when you sell original music; when you sell professional backing tracks by the song and have to make royalty payments on all of it... we knew we were looking at custom work. MyMuse turned out to have most of what we needed built in, with key features like file storage & delivery from outside the public_html, instant fulfillment, a fast, solid payment module, sample players of all types - and clean code! Starting from maintenance-programmer skills, I've developed a good understanding of how Joomla works (like controlling the sort-order of drop down select lists, Gord) with minimal risk to the system because the modular code just doesn't cascade-fail. The customers are delighted - our MyMuse hybrid is faster, easier to navigate, and more intuitively obvious than our former Brand X store - and are now completing their purchases rather than giving up. Thanks!

Rapid1Pixelout
When you create sites for musicians, having music which will only play on certain platforms is a disaster. Of the numerous players I have tried, this was the only one able to deliver across all platforms I tested with only one file-set. Simple and elegant.

Class Overrider
When I needed to override the Categories model to implement a custom ordering for only one section of a site, this extension did the trick in an update-safe way. It is simple to use, and transparent in its operation - excellent work! One note: the limited documentation actually is complete. You must read it carefully, understand the default states of the parameters, and only specify what is necessary for your specific application.

Easy Script
I installed Easy Script on a 2.5 site running the Gantry Framework in a responsive theme from Rocket because I needed minor customizations (add and apply a Google font), and did not want to risk having my work wiped out by an update or over-ridden due to poor placement. Easy script saved me hours of analysis and put my three lines of code at the very bottom of the Head section. Congratulations and Thanks to Ciro - you're the first I've tried who actually hit that coveted last-line spot - perfect!

Maian Media
The developer has announced discontinuation of support for Maian Media, which is a shame because when it operates it does a great job. Unfortunately the existing documentation is spotty and the support forum is currently offline, so you are on your own when it comes to making it work. I have slight to moderate programming experience, and am running Joomla 2.5.7 on a Debian shared host with PHP 5.3.13 - and making this extension work was a great introduction to how Joomla actually works. Problems I encountered: PayPal verification failure, because the variables need to be in the same order; database update failure, because variables are not available across different instances of the program; input validation failure, due to conflict with Joomla's database management and built-in data-cleaning. If this sounds like your kind of fun, you will love this store - and the result is worth the effort.
Owner's reply

Just to be clear I am no longer providing free support. Between my day job and taking care my one year old I really don't have time to provide support for something that is free to begin with. I am putting the project on GitHub in the hopes that I won't be the only person contributing to this project. I had inherited it to being with. I am still doing development when I find time. If you have found fixes please send them my way and I'll incorporate them into the next version.
