Account Expiration Control
This is the best membership software for Joomla! Initially I turned away from AEC because of the patching the core issue as I thought this would create issues when upgrading J!. However I have found that the developer handles the patching / unpatching very easy and straight forward. So as I looked else where for a solution I ended up buying one extension, just to find out that simply wasn't able to do what we wanted to do, so onto to buy another membership component to find that was not doing what was we needed it to do.
But above the user interface and the user experience was mot as elegant as we wanted it to be, which lead us to take a nother look AEC, and we just found everything we needed. One of the biggest things we looked at what is the check out experience, to get a conversion rate as high as possible. And we found that AEC handle this extremely well.
Above this important issue AEC has been easy to integrate and the little support we have needed has been addressed in a very professional and timely manner.

Thanks! Just to make sure that this is not misunderstood by others: AEC no longer needs to "patch" and files, like we needed to in Joomla 1.0. These days, you only need to install our plugins.

CrazyEgg Integrator
google analytics is good - this is great. And very well integrated with Joomla! Yes the plug in is free the service is not. So what? This helps us better monetize our website by making it even more userfriendly and understand user behavior and navigation.
Art Sexy Lightbox
I bought this version some time ago, but until a couple of days ago I only used it as a simple light/shadow box solution. My original reason for paying (a reasonable small fee) was it's elegant design. However the other my client needed a new way to integrate images in their website. And it actually wasn't until I had looked at other solutions it struck me that we had sexy lightbox on the site and I discovered there had been several updates and the feature set goes well beyond "just" the lightbox. BUT as I run into a couple of issues I turned to their forum. Normally I don't expect much from forums, but I got almost instant reply from Ari, not only in terms of help but also they updated the software to solve my issue. Thank you.

Maxi Menu CK
I have been using v2.3 on a site as this was the only menu that was easily deployable for that site. And I was just going to review it as being excellent. Today I just discovered it has been updated to v. 3.1 and a bunch of (very cool)features has been added making this excellent module totally awesome. Only thing I could wish for would be documentation on the css which would help speed up modification for site brand compliance.
I am happy to see this module being actively maintained. Thanks.

Annonces
Happy we chose this component for a local community website. Installation was a breeze, configuration was easy and we was up an running in around an hour. Once you get to know the extension there is always something one would wish. But for our needs right now, we're pleased and look forward to what the future may bring to this fine extension.

MP3 Browser
This is great, easy to install and configure, and works well.

This is the plug in you want if you want to make a library of MP3 files. Just dump your mp3s in a folder, write one line in an article and you have a nice library with download button, file info and a player to listen to the songs.

Couldn't be more simple. Nice solution.

Great work

Cassrina Hover Image Menu
This just came in handy for a site I just did for a client. As someone else wrote preloading would be nice. Also being able to set spacing between images would be a welcome feature.

I can't comment on the handling of sub-menus as I have not tried it. I have just had a need for a one level horizontal menu, no text just various images as the navigation. And it just works.

It does vertical menus too.

Easy to understand config description on their website.

SpecialHTML
nice module however it contains a back-link. Visible, but I'd like to be notified before I put links on my site.
Therefore I'm out

DT Register
Excellent component. Easy install, easy config. I like that there are explanations on the admin pages that actually gives the user directions on how to do - and explains the workflow. Very good practice for others to follow. I only wish the acajoom integration was part of the product. Looking forward to see what future updates will bring.

Simple Video Flash Player
I was actually going to give this a five start rating, just when I discovered:

the module contains a hidden backlink to the developer.

I do understand that developers want credit. But at least disclose it.
