Advanced Module Manager
As like all of this developers extensions it is very useful and saves a lot of time assigning and setting up modules. It gives you many options for assigning modules that the Joomla core does not offer. If you ever have a problem support is fast and very competent. Hats off to the developer.

Site Lock
I was waiting for something like this for a long time now. It does just what it is supposed to do. It makes development on a server much easier than to have to keep going to the global configuration and putting the site on and offline. With site lock you can keep your site online and setup which users are able to access the site. This way you can login as a registered user to test the site. You can even log in as a guest to test registration at the site. Nice Job on This.

Slidingcaptions
This module does everything it says! It installed without a hitch and the features are plentiful and easy to understand. Being able to edit the CSS settings in the module parameters is a great big plus. I have not experienced any conflicts with other java scripts or mootools. The ability to add multiple modules on the same page without conflict is also a big help. Hats off to the developer. This mod is staying on my site and will surely find a place on coming sites that I am building.

EasyBlog
I've been looking for a multi user Blogging system for a community site that I am building and need to be able to let all registered users not only be able to post Blog entries but have their own Blogging area and be able to create their own categories and tags. Well, EasyBlog does this and much more. Users can link their Blogs to their Twitter Accounts with an auto update feature, two positions for users to add Google AdSense ads are also available. These features can be turned on/off in the admin. Permalinks for user blog pages and posts is also great feature. Meta description and tags being able to be added by users for their blog page and posts along with being able to use feed burner as well are just some other features that no blog software should be without. The integrated commenting system with threaded (tree) commenting is great, but not only that you are able to integrate JComments, Intense Debate, Disqus Comment or JomComment gives you the flexibility that you need to get your blog section to fit the rest of your site. Integration with JomSocial is a snap and works perfectly, user avatars on blog posts and comments, a toolbar in JomSocial to be able to go directly to add posts or view blogs. The plugin that I found most interesting is the JomSocial plugin for displaying blog posts on the members profile whereas comments to the post can be added to the post directly from the users profile page. Blog posts are also published in the JomSocial Activity Stream along with a link back to the post. The templates that accompany this component are just beautiful and customizing them to fit your site is very easy if you know a little CSS.I have not used the support forum yet because I have not yet had any problems. I did take a look before writing this post and support seems to be fast and competent. All in All I am very satisfied with this piece of software and have not regretted spending the money. Thanks to the developers for a software that does what it says it does!

AceSEF
O.K. it's free but component ad-dons also cost you some money, they are affordable and the time that you save in tweaking (as I have spent many hours in the past with other commercial sef extensions ), is well worth the price. I bought a pro subscription to this component and have not regret it yet! I use ACEsef together with Joomla 1.5.20, K2, Kunena, Jomsocial, MyBlog, Mosets Tree and JoomFish on a site with three different languages! Guess What? No Problems! This baby delivers what others promise but cannot do!!! This extension has saved me numerous headaches that I have experienced with other SEF Components! Flat Out, it is a little expensive but well worth the price!!!

Although this component is in alpha it is coming along nicely. I use this alongside of joomfish on a site I am currently building. I was able to translate My Blog and Mosets Tree from english to Thai and German within three hours yesterday. If you have a basic knowledge of the language that you are translateing to you can easily use Google translate to do a rough translation and then do the touchups manualy. The interface of the component is still a little messy but it does what it says. This baby has found a home on my site next to Joomfish I now have a powerful environment for producing multi languge web sites.

JEvents
I bought a Gold Subscription for JEvents and have not regretted it at all. Lot's of features and themes accompany the component, support is fast and competent. Integration with Jom Social was a snap. I had a problem customizing one of the templates and received an answer on the support forum within hours. This add-on leaves no wishes open. The developer is continuously updating and is quick to help. Thanks for this one Geraint.

Dragon Share - drag to share plugin
This plugin installed without a hitch. It does exactly what it say it will do. A great space saver and a great gimmick for your bookmarking needs. I needed some help doing a customization and the author answered me promptly. Thanks to the developer for a handy plugin.

AutoTweet NG
This component works just as advertised. Who needs to pay for advertising when you've got twitter? There is no better way to get your articles or Blog posts out to the world than using witter. I am using this along with K2 and my articles are posted to Twitter as soon as I save them. The only thing you have to make sure is that you save from the frontend and not the backend as it will not get the URL correct from the backend. This is clearly stated in the forum. There are many options for the way that your Tweets are published such as using the article header or intro text, adding hashtags from the articles meta keywords or the the category or section or none at all. The ability to automatically shorten URLs is a great feature and necessity when using Twitter with it's 140 character limit. This component and it's plugins installed without a hitch and was up and running within a few minutes. All I can say is thanks to the developer for a great add-on.
Owner's reply

Hi,

thank you for this review.

One word to the URL, when posted from backend: The URL is correct, but it is not the SEF URL because Joomla has no support for this in the backend.

Thanks again,
Ulli

Cache Cleaner
This is a very useful plugin. I usually have an extra tab open in FireFox on the clear cache page when editing Templates, articles, css files and the likes but you still need to refresh the page, select the items and refresh to get anywhere. This plugin does it with he click of a button from the backend without having to refresh anything. When editing in the frontend, just add a string to the end of the URL you are on and presto, a nice clean refresh. This plugin is really a great help. Thanks to the developer!

FlexBanner
This component is coming along just great. Setting up banners of sizes is no problem. I have used it to implement Google adsense, and numerous affiliate banners all with no problems. As for support I can't say much because I have not had to use the forums because I have not had any problems what so ever! I did take a look at the support forum before writing this review. Only 60 topics in the nearly 8 month life of this component, I guess that speaks for itself. The posts that are there seem to be replied to within one day. Updates are posted frequently and new features are being added continuously. This one gets 5 stars from me. Thanks to the developer for a solid ADD-ON! (No Pun Intended) ;-)

Thanks for the positive feedback. I see this as my way of paying back Joomla! and the community for their efforts.

Tag
Yes Finally, This is the first tagging system that leaves your content URL'S intact. Other tagging systems I have tried would, after clicking on a tag and then clicking on an article in the list, give you something like "http://yoursite.com/TAG/article.html" But not Tags for Joomla. This component shows your article as it should be ie: "http://yoursite.com/article.html". Why is this important? SEO is the answer. Search engines do not like it if you have articles that show the same content under two different URL's. This hurts your rankings. The ability to add tags manually or import tags from your Meta Keywords is also a great and time saving advantage. This add-on comes with a plugin that shows an "Add Tags Button" in your editor so that you may add tags when creating an article. I also like the term management that allows you to add a definition to any of your tags which is then shown at the top of the tag result list. I have tested this on Joomla 1.5.10 using the default system SEF, Firefox 3, IE 6, 7 and 8, Opera 9 and Safari 3. The component and Plugins/Mods all installed with no issues and work as stated. Thanks for this great add-on.

JFusion
I am currently using JFusion with Joomla 1.5.10 and phpBB 3.0.4. I have also tested this with SMF 1.1.8. This component does exactly what it says! It does what some bridges say is not possible, Dual Login/Logout, both from Joomla and phpBB. I have set phpBB as my master software and Joomla as my slave, disabled user registration in Joomla and allowed registration in phpBB. New users are automatically added to Joomla, updated passwords and emails are also updated into Joomla. The activity mods, login mod and discussbot are all working as they should be. It is simply amazing what the developers have accomplished in the last few months. I do not use the IFrame integration so I cannot comment on this as I use matching Rocket Theme templates for both Joomla and phpBB. The forums are very active and the developers are very helpful. I would highly recommend this add-on to anyone looking to use Joomla and phpBB and/or SMF.

I downloaded and installed this plug-in not expecting much as I have tried other compressors before that literally killed my site. My template uses lots of Moo-tools, I have numerous javascript functions on my site and was utterly flabbergasted at what this little gem did for the speed of my site. I have tested this using IE 6, 7 and 8, Firefox 3, Opera 9 and Safari 3.2.1. They all were noticeably faster whereas IE 6 and 7 made giant leaps in loading times. The best part is that may phpBB3 forum (which is published under my main Joomla folder using Jfusion integration and a Rocket Theme template which had killed the loading times for the forum) is back to the speed that is known for phpBB. I have not found any conflicts related to this plug-in and/or Java scripts or css files. I have used the default configuration and have not tweaked anything to get this to work. It took about ten seconds to install and activate. I would recommend to any Joomla user to give this a try. Hats off to the developer, this baby found a home on my site!

K2
Wow, a CMS within a CMS. That's all there is to it. This must be the best content related extension for Joomla 1.5. It is very easy to use, I installed it with the sample data and felt right at home with this component. Setting up a Blog on Joomla has never been easier. This component leaves o wishes open! The only thing that I can not believe is that it is GNU/GPL. Keep up the good work JoomlaWorks. This onenis staying on my site!
byCreatorffm, April 3, 2009
Well it installed easy enough. I followed the instructions, set up the paths and enabled the plugin. Cleared my Joomla and browser cache, went to the front end and reloaded my site. It did load much faster but... All javascript quit working and menu images and backgrounds were missing. I wasted no time in uninstalling!

Sobi2
This must be the best directory component for Joomla! I installed it on a site that I am building, set it up in no time at all. Now i need a second directory on the same site. What do I do? Look for a commercial version? The cheapest one I found cost $90+. Wait a minute, Sobi2 has a cloning tool. Within half an hour I had cloned Sobi2 and all the Mods, plug-ins and extensions. It worked just perfect. Now I have two installations of Sobi2 on the same site. Try that with another component! I read on the forum that some guy made three clones and installed them all. WOW! A lot of add-ons and a very active forum top off this great product! Most of the problems I encountered were already posted in the forums so I did not waste any time getting things fixed. Thanks to the developers of this great product.

JTags
This component fills a big black empty space desperately needed in Joomla. The new Version 1.1 does just what it says! it is very easy to use and fits extremely well into the 10 templates I tested it on. Thumbs up for this great add-on.

Akeeba Backup
All I can say is WOW!!!
I have been building a new community site for about two months now, I do most of my testing on the same server using a sub-domain. I installed a forum bridge and was playing around with it when all of a sudden I had no access to either the front end nor the admin end of my test site. I almost blew my top but then I remembered that that I had installed joomla pack on the main site and made a backup of both the site and the data bank. So I gave JoomlaPack a go. I installed my main site to my test site and was up and running in just under 30 minutes!!! This is now my favorite Joomla extension. Hats off to the developers.

JoomGallery
Just plain and simple, the best gallery for Joomla. I was looking for an integrated gallery to let registered members create and maintain their own galleries and let's just say that this one worked right out of the box! ;) Many settings in the backend, cb integration, stats mod and the images mod (also with a wide range of settings) just make this the best solution for my needs. As for support, I can't comment on this as I haven't needed any yet but taking a look at the forums most of the posts were answered within a matter of hours. Great component guy's. Thanks for this one and keep up the good work!
